Not sure how many people are in love with these dinosaurs, but I just can't get into tacticool shotguns. These are part of a large collection I acquired from a WWII Iwojima Marine. Really an honor to keep these going. I have his uniform, pictures, purple heart, and many other neat artifacts. Now on to the goodies...

You're not the only one. I don't have anything against "tactical" stuff, I'm just not interested in it.

I do however love side by side doubles. Yea, yea...I know O/U's are "better" but I don't care.

Those are beautiful. Thanks for sharing them, and the story.

Wow, the wood on that Winchester Model 21 is beautiful, as well as on the Sterlingworth! Shotguns as nice as those would always be welcome in my gun safe. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the kind replies. These are just 3 of 25 guns in the collection which includes Browning Superposed, Win. model 12s, 870s, Rem 58, S&W 52, and on and on. You'd probably feint if you knew how much I have in them...nothing. These guns belonged to a close friend of mine (75 years old) who inherited them from his Uncle (WWII Marine). He has no kin who wanted or cared about them, so he gave them to me to keep the story and collection alive. I can't wait to take these out to my local Wednesday night trap shoot.

I'm afraid I just can't do that sweet Ithaca justice. I can only do 38-42 average from 50 clays. I suppose I could just practice more!

SUHWEET!

I am also another who finds killing zombies and black plastic a waste of time.

Make sure you have adequate insurance for those, they are worth a lot, especially in that condition!

Go and enjoy them, I am sure the original owner would have wanted that

That's a great story and really great guns, passing down one's guns is an important tradition for gun guys who appreciate the gun for what it's really worth and not just how much fiat paper can be gotten for it.

Man oh man. Jealous does not even get close to how I feel about this.
They can have all of those black plastic shotguns they want, just let me have one really nice, like you have, Sterlingworths in my lifetime.
Good score, and the owner that passed away was very much worthy of these very fine shotguns. Do the shotguns right, use them and tell the story.

Very Nice - it looks like double guns were re-stocked, and seriously upgraded. The fancy walnut and checkering really looks great on these guns.

White line spacers indicate it was done some time ago and recoil pads mean these guns were meant for shooting.

Enjoy

Been doing my research and they are both original stocks. The Winchester 21 books at $6800! Holy smokes! The whitelines were added some time ago, as these guns haven't seen the light of day in over 30 years.

Winchester 21 custom trap gun fit for a General Oficer ! The 21 really was the best and in a class by itself IMHO'

The AH fox is about a perfect sporting match for the man that shoots regular clays with that 21 ! Not good for steel but ne hell of a grouse or rooster gun!
The single Ithaca is Iconic and worth up to $2k
Of what you named the S&W 52 is certaoinly one to invest in!

Awesome model 21! Are the recoil pads original? Tactical stuff sucks! Nothing better than a SxS! I have an old AyA 20ga. It's been a lifesaver and game taker over the years. If I could only have one gun, this would be it!

That's a fantastic trio!

Need to add a few more SxSs to the stable, thanks for reminding me...
