Academy had a dozen ARs last Friday when I was in and Gander had two dozen late Friday afternoon.

Nice to see a glimer of sanity on the horizon.

Walmart had a couple 6920s yesterday here. Ammo shelves still bare.

One of my local gunshops has over 150 ARs in stock; they ordered them in late winter during the height of the 'banic' and they've all recently come in. They're moving slowly enough that they're running some significant sales on most of them, just to move them.

Ammo is a different story....

Are AR15's still scarce in some places? They are plentiful and stagnant around here. Back to pre panic prices too.
Ammo is still a pain but allegedly a big shipment is coming in tomorrow to my LGS.

The only thing I don't see much of are piston guns, mostly DI's at the moment.

At Wal-Mart AR's are still completely AWOL but there is an occasional S&W M&P 15-22 or something similar, they go like hot cakes in this military town.

My local (and practically only decent) pawn shop has an assortment of evil rifles with reasonable prices but as much as i'd like an AR or other EBR like a FN FS2000 or similar I simply can't afford until my wife's disabillity settlement comes in. even then it's gonna take some convincing her to spend 1000~2500 dollars on another rifle :(

.22LR is occasionally popping up at our Military Exchange and the pawn shop but 9mm is still VERY scarce...if not completely impossible to find, hoarders are still heavily at it, my PX had a pallet of THOUSANDS of rounds of Tula .223 but it's gone already :( took only about a couple of weeks! DAMN HOARDERS! plenty of Field Grade officers with big money got a couple of 100 round boxes EVERY DAY.....

When will the panic stop?!

I have two questions.

Did they have a limit of one AR-15 type per customer? (Our Walmart had a sign saying they had a limit of one per customer)

And how was the handgun and rifle ammo availability?

Thanks

I was at a walmart last week getting my oddball items- hey, where else can you buy dog food, a bore brush, shampoo and laundry detergent at 10pm? They had a couple bushmaster ar's on the shelf for $970ish. Some ammo- the usual rifle hunting rounds, a couple boxes of 44 mag, some 30-30, 5-10 boxes of each 380, 9mm and 45acp hydrashoks, some speer 40 defensive etc etc. I begrudgingly purchased my first box of factory ammo in over a year, figured I needed some 45 defensive ammo as the 1911 became the new bedside gun. $25 for 20 rounds? Ouch! I went to my LGS today and their powder shelf was about 3/4 normal capacity, just out of the most popular rifle powders but you could make do with what they have. A few flavors of cci and winchester primers for their normal price of $34/k, cci #41 primers for $40. I used to not support them because the owner was a grumpy old man, but dang, props to them as they are the only store that hasnt raised their prices a bit. Now I have enough powder for the next year. Tomorrow Im on the hunt for cheap scrap lead!

Stopped at the LGS today and plenty of ARs. Academy has plenty. Cabela's has plenty.

Gun store workers tell me they are getting outraged dudes trying to sell the AR they bought for 2500 bucks and getting an offer that is about 60% of current retail - if that. They stamped their feet. :D

Free market - they forgot it.
