Anyone seen a NAA Sidewinder for sale yet? I have seen a couple on gunbroker for some pretty steep prices, but haven't seen any in person on with the major online retailers. Anyone know how much production there will be on these? I am assuming this will be a standard fairly available offering (not like the Ranger Topbreak

Only on Gunbroker, and they are quite pricey.
I would like to have one but will have to pass, at those prices.
Ouch!

The LGS had one. It didn't stay long, but I'm on the list now. I like it. I wonder if HKS is going to make a speedloader for it?

Do you remember what the LGS was asking for it?

Saw one at the local gun store the other day for $350. For that price I believe it was without the .22LR conversion cylinder.

Purchased the SW combo version about a month ago for $390.00 plus tax cash price. In my pocket now. Enjoy shooting the little piece and must state the LR hulls are much easier to eject than mag hulls due to length. All in all, a great revolver and much quicker reloads than my PUG and mini-mag!

A friend showed me his about a month ago. It isn't as "stellar" as the original, but time will tell how it holds up.

Sidewinder 2.5 and 4 coming

A buddy has one. I didn't know it had a flip-out cylinder -- not described well on the NAA site. Per Jessica at NAA:

Yes, we will be making the Sidewinder with a 2.5" and a 4" barrel. However the dates have not been set as to when they will start production on those models.

For the money they get for the SW, I would rather pay a bit more and get the breaktop they have quit making after the trial production, if they were making them now. Now there would be a fast reload.

From all reports the top break was very expensive to produce. For them to make money you would have to pay more than a "bit". I would love to see one too, but sounds like it is not feasible

Question for you guys that have one. When shooting LR does the bullet key hole?
Mike
Keyholing is typical in the mini versions - not so much in the more substantial MiniMag version. My first mini keyholed so badly I sent it back - they rebarreled with a longer barrel per my request. Much more satisfactory. Really great C/S at NAA. In respect to the breaktop (Ranger) and the Sidewinder, the benefit is much faster reloads. Each weighs more than twice as much as my mini, are larger, and much more expensive. I have discovered a way to negate their one advantage - an extra cylinder. The cyl is very small and mine weighs 1.1 ounce. Kept loaded I can switch cyls more quickly than I can reload a swingout. Werks fer mee.

like RJ Travel i find that i can swap out cylinders much faster than i can eject and reload the breaktop or sidewinder. i have a pocket holster for the mini magnum that has a built in pouch to keep the spare cylinder.l

I have two of the black powder ''Companion'' revolvers in the ''magnum'' size, both with spare cylinders. 20 shots before a re-load...what a hoot to shoot!

Neat pic. What I find striking is that the Remington isn't much bigger than the NAAs.

I have a three NAA minis, one with a 1 5/8 barrel, a Sidewinder, and a 3" Earl.

None have ever keyholed shooting from 7-15ft with various high velocity .22lr bulk ammo...

I actually prefer to carry the regular conversion model over the Sidewinder because it's very quick and easy to change out the cylinder from the lr to the Magnum ... much faster than reloading the Sidewinder.

I carry the extra cylinder in a plastic 35mm film container with a paper towel folded and stuffed at the bottom to keep it from falling.

BHP Fan I also have one of the black powder ''Companion'' revolvers in the ''magnum'' size, with a spare cylinder. What are you using for a load and what kind of powder because I read of BP, BP subs & smokeless loadings of the gun?

Is your sidewinder the LR / MAG combo? I am curious as to how fast you can swap cylinders on the sidewinder

Swapping cylinders requires a narrow flathead screwdriver or other such tool to remove the entire yoke, think that is the correct nomenclature, and then install the other complete cylinder. You can swap cylinders out quicker with the standard type combos.
