What's your "fun gun"

I always have tons of fun with my Marlin 336.

I seem to have the most fun with my Henry H001 .22LR

I hate these "only one gun" threads.
It's too hard to pick!

I guess I'd have to go with my S&W Model 10-5.
I reload my own & have the bullet & powder down pat on this one.
It's extremely accurate, that's why I chose it.

It depends on my mood.

Generally, if it goes bang, it is fun.

My .44 mag Redhawk. I took it up shooting today and forgot how big my smile got when I pulled the trigger.

Hmm I'd either go with my CETME because of the large boom, and general soft recoil of it...or my VZ.61 Skorpion because...well...20rounds goes REAL fast through that thing, even if it is only semi auto!

The Desert Eagle .44 is always fun.

No doubt the funnest gun known to man right here.



Of course anything in FA would be much more fun...Unfortunatly guns are expensive enough, I don't wanna add another 200 bucks and serious atf wait times... So SA will have to do

I'd pick a suppressed twenty two out of the lineup.

Cheap to shoot and lot's of smiles.

A gun is a tool I need simply because many others have them. I do not like firearms and using them gives me zero pleasure.

The 'Lil' Bitch' (Eastern-European nickname for AKSU) can cause much mayhem and destruction. This will be one of the first weapons to be banned.

My fun gun is an abused orphan Marlin 60 that I bought used at a gunshop for $53 dollars, shortened the barrel and magazine tube to 17", and mounted in a broken junked Ramline folder stock expoxied and pinned to fixed. It goes with me to the mountains for plinking and possible protection even though I have better guns. It works, its handy.

The Nylon 66 was another pawnshop orphan $50 that required $13 for an ejector & spring (gunsmith Harrel told me those were the first Nylon 66 repair parts he had had to sell to anyone). Yep, I bobbed the barrel by 2.25" and reinstalled the front sight. That's often the backup to the Model 60 on trips to the mountain. 66 will go 15 rounds of Aguila SSS without a bobble. The pristine Marlin 60 above stays NIB JIC the others go out of service.

In the 1950s I was introduced to plinking cans by my dad using the .22 family rifle that he hunted with in the 1930s; in the 1960s I hunted with my uncle Ed who still lived on the mountain. Guns were introduced to me as a good skill to have (Dad credited his pre-WWII experience with guns as giving him the marksmanship skills to survive his first landing in New Guinea) but mostly as weapons for hunting and target practice to be a safer and better hunter. My kids tell me some of the best times with me they remember were our trips to the rock quarry, or to the mountain, or to the rifle range, to shoot at targets.

It took some convincing in the 1970s by two friends who were city detectives and a relative who was a corrections officer that keeping a gun ready for self-defense was a good idea. In 2006 a man beat two people to death with a baseball bat in their home over drugs; DNA proved he had stabbed a woman to death in the boarding house just one block from my apartment in 2004. In early 2013, drug seekers killed a disabled Iraq War vet for his pain meds using a hammer and knife. That confirmed to me that it is, after all, a good thing to have a gun as a self-defense tool because there are other people who are a threat to me whether they have a gun or not. I would not have a gun just to defend against another gun; the home invader my sister drove off with her pistol did not have a gun but was still a danger to her.

I have the most fun with a pump action shotgun. So I'd take a Mossberg 500. Something about working the action always makes me smile. Give me a few slugs, a couple of boxes of buck shot, and a pallet of bird shot... I'll have fun for days.

Don't forget a nice and soft after market recoil pad.
