My first capybara!

Today I shot my first capybara, after days of searching. But finally we found it (and a big one!). I used my 16 gauge shotgun, loaded with a 0.9 oz slug in the right barrel, and #1 buck in the left barrel. I first saw it looking at me and I pointed the shotgun in between his eyes, and shot him a #1 buck, right in the face. After that it jumped into water and tried to swim, but I shot him with the slug, and then it just sinked. With help of a friend we could bring him out of the water. What do you think?

In size and weight it is pretty much like a hog. This one weighed 60 kg. Of course capybaras are rodents.

There are a few people here in the US that have those as pets. According to one article they can be trained just like dogs .

Yes, they are very good to eat, here capybara hunting is very popular and it is full of them.

Thanks, and yes, they are huge! I heard some may weigh up to 80 kg.
