HI ALL..im from lancaster co. Pa....im all about hunting with archery,flintlock,inline,rifle,pistol,and shotgun...i would use a speer but its not allowed in pa. I got into reloading out of necessity and love to be able to custom my own loads...ive never been able to shoot so good! Thanks. Dan

i am in my early 50s retired Locksmith.
i play PS3 games a lot and still live as a teenager in my head.

Well lets see .ok

i Love collecting and taking apart all sorts of guns and putting back together again.

As for Cap and ball i have

***Uberti 1849 Pocket (my 1st uberti)
***NAA Super Companion Magnum .22 Cap and Ball
***1858 New Army Brass Frame
***Many Air revolvers .22 and under.
***Blank Ekol 9mm Pistol
***Pietta 1858 New Army Buffalo in Stainless Steel with Kirst Conversion
that i had put in using a Dremel and file.
If anyone would ever like to see it i can take pictures of it.
i also i have many good quality air Pistols Air Rifles my Favorite Air rifle is the QB57 it comes in a cool case kind of llike james bond and the rifle breaks down into 3 pieces with the scope included

i have always been a slow learner but seem to sometimes be pretty good with mechanical things.

IF i take something apart i love to learn how to put them together
i am so glad this forum exists also youtube helps alot as well.

For example yesterday i had gotten an Uberti 1849 my 1st Uberti ever.
At first i had regrets i had ordered it because i heard bad reviews on DGW. and i was worried :uhoh: what UPS was bringing me yesterday.

i ordered it from Taylors and Company.

When it arrived came i opened it up and noticed the nipples were very clogged so i decided to strip the revolver down But not the Trigger assembly.after A Good cleaning i Polished it up to a nice Mirror like finish the way i like it.

i had the hammer on half cock when this was all apart
when i tried to put the cylinder on i could not.the Hammer was Locked.
i said to myself oh no this is one of the things mentioned on Taylors if i have a Hammer lock to return it for repairs,

i decided to take the plunge and look through YouTube videos the closest i came to was the 1851 Navy and i guess the parts are almost the same.i watched several videos and finally took the Trigger Guard apart and put it back together.what ever i did and i am not sure exactly i did but the trigger was working the way it should be.

i had them put it all back together again
All Mirror Shined up i fell in love with it.

i was so happy i had the right Screw Drivers as well

i am so glad to be part of a community like this to get help and advices from.

New guy here, From NJ. Hunter looking to get into Skeet soon. former ASE certified master tech and Truck driver. Currently retired and have been a Volunteer Firefighter over 20 years. That's the short of it.
 
HELLO,
I'm an avid shooter and am currently trying bench shooting and getting involved in metal.
We have an oddball collection of everything from early 1800's to a brand new M4.
I reload just about everything that we shoot and do minor gunsmithing. So I like to learn about all of it.
 
Greetings from So Cal, Ventura County! I'm a retired LEO (LAPD), former Marine and past NRA Field Rep, and I've also done a lot of comp pistol shooting, but not too much these days because of the cost of ammo and lack of places to shoot in my area. I also play a little golf and tennis, so that and interacting with grandkids eats up more time than this old man can account for.

In my day I dearly loved the challenge and "pump" of handgun competition shooting at all levels including: PPC, 3-gun bullseye, Bianchi cup, SW Pistol League and a host of other venues. Looking back I feel extremely lucky to have been involved in shooting at a time when it was a bit freer and more affordable than today, but more importantly I met a lot of quality shooters (some no longer with us) who taught me things that can't be articulated in a book or magazine article. Suffice it to say I have a ton of good memories and a fondness for the shooting sports, and along with writing the occasional letter to the editor and posting opinions on other sites, I am really looking forward to trading posts with you guys. This is one good online site that I have wanted to join for a long time ... better late than never!

Just found this thread. Already posted several times. Hi my name is Jay. I got hooked on reloading in January of 2012 and have become a bullets/powder/primer junkie. Have to be because 10mm ammo is stupid expensive. Sorry to say the Dec 2012 scramble took me completely by surprise and I have only completed my stockpile wishlist in May. I own @ 10mm Witness, a .45acp Kimber, and a Ruger new model Blackhawk in 45lc. Must admit i have looked around the forums at THR for quite awhile and am impressed with the quality of thought I have encountered therein.

Hello! I've been a member for a few weeks here, but haven't made any posts. I'm from north Alabama, and I collect milsurp firearms. I started my collection in February of 2012. I have a 1975 M69/66A1 Yugo SKS, a 1941 Izhevsk M91/30 Mosin Nagant, a 1944 Fazakerley Lee Enfield No4 Mk1, a 1953 Czech CZ52, and a 1943 National Postal Meter M1 Carbine. The scoped and sporterized M1917 Eddystone is no longer part of my collection.
 
Thanks! I'm already planning on additions! A CMP Garand, either a vz24 Mauser or a M24/47 Mauser, a U-Fix-Em Chinese Type 53 Mosin Nagant, and a M91 Mosin.
 
Welcome zaitsev! Milsurp stuff certainly has an undeniable mystique, for me anyway - and a lot of other folks too. I have a soft spot for Enfields and M1 carbines... How does that No4 shoot for you? Find any special loads? I handload and my particular rifle is a sweetheart with the right load. I have a 7x57 Chilean '95 Mauser that I converted into a 'pistol' for practical hunting reasons years ago... and have been dealing with a growing sense of guilt for messing with what was an almost pristine rifle. Don't do that.
P.S. I know about the legalities of the conversion. It has been dealt with since.

I love my Enfield. So far I've only shot some 1942 and 1944 Australian, British, and one round of South African surplus (I only shot about 12 rounds and 5 were duds) and I've shot some Hornady SP for hunting. You don't have to worry about me cutting down, refinishing, drilling an tapping, or modifying any of my milsurps.
 
Also, can some tell me why I can't make a post to the buy, sell, and trade: rifles and shotguns section?
