This one is a 451 RB, a superlube wad, 20g of GOEX, and a flax paper.

That little dark spot ahead of the wad is not powder- its just lube darkening the paper.

The cartridge is TIGHT tight TIGHT.

So, how'd I do ?

As long as the lube doesn't contaminate the powder looks good, the proof is in the firing..

I just put the ball in the middle of the paper, and twisted the end.

Stuffed the wad in with a pen, and filled in the powder.

Twisted the other end, licked both ends to make it stick and clipped of the excess with a nail clipper.

Blarby, did you first roll the flax paper around a dowel to make a tube? If you did what diameter dowel did you use and did you find it or make it?

The reason I'm asking is I might want to try this.

Crawdad: When I made paper cartridges for my Podewils-Lindner I used a piece of 1/2" copper tubing and fine tuned the diameter by wrapping with electrical tape. I used a thin craft glue (similar to rubber cement) to bond mine but I think mink oil would also have worked just fine. I am using copy paper which has been soaked in a potassium nitrate solution for mine.

Thats kinda how i do mine after i fine tuned the dowel i then wrap paper around it and scotch tape it so its as big around as its going to need but then all smooth. I scotch tape it where i lick the glue.

The first few i made slightly to large so i take the tape off till my loads just slip snug down into the chambers.

I had some problems with the first few i shot not going off. Then i started to tear the little twist off at the range till i see powder then i stuff it into the chambers. Iv never had any FTF when i started doing it that way.

I decided to stop rolling the ball in with the paper though. I noticed when i pack the cartridge it tears the paper off around the ball and leaves a little paper cap ontop of the ball. Ide rather not have that little paper cap there.

Now i just twist up both ends and then clip each end as i stuff them into the chambers.

I loaded up some Triple 7 last night, going to try them today see how they do. I hope they go off i maybe have packed them in a little tight.

I normally load with a level 357mag cartridge and then a 9mm cartridge cut in half with filler, wonder wad then ball. This shot the best for me with pyrodex 3FG and CCI #11 caps
