So I hit BDS's "where are their reloading components for sale" thread up today (like I do everyday), see that NATCHEZSS has Lee 9mm 4-die sets in stock. I'm slowly collecting reloading gear so I won't have to take such a financial hit and this'll be a huge score...I get all warm and tingly, march myself right over to the website, start entering my credit card info in, and...what? AL is not on the drop down bar when you select which state you are in :cuss:

I call customer service and the gent tells me they're "not set up to do business in Alabama".:banghead:

So, I see they're in Chattanooga, which is 75 miles NE from here..I'm thinking DAYTRIP!!!!!!

"Sorry sir, we are mail order only".......

Talk about a letdown. Guess it just wasn't meant to be. :( PH

Natchez supplies the retailers in your state.
So they refuse to ship there as to not compete with their customers (the retailers).

Ship it to my house and then road trip to Fayetteville to pick it up. Is Tennessee on the drop down list?

Jim
Thanks but No Tn or Georgia either. i know a guy who brings us Mississippi sweet taters at work so I talked to the customer service guy about that. He said the credit card would need to match his address so it will pass the fraud check. Maybe not match, but at least not be 400 miles away probably. This old farmer couldve handled receiving it for me, but I can't ask the guy to let me buy it on his card or something silly like that. I could open a card and use his address maybe, but then he'd get the bill....Hey, thats an idea:)

I see now Hex answered the Tn question

What really irks me about this is that if they're supplying to some mom and pop shop in Mobile, and I live in Huntsville, there's almost no chance I'm ever gonna buy from the person they're supplying. That means that I'm gonna have to take my business to a completely different chain of supply.

Yea. I'm not so sure its to avoid their distrubutees. He said "we are not set up to do business in Alabama", sounding to me like it was more of a red tape issue than a choice. I could very well be wrong, but the way he worded it made it sound like the latter.

Thanks Jesse. i guess that ends that. Here is what Jesse's link says:

From their website:
Why we don't sell in TN, GA, or AL

Over 21 years ago Natchez Shooters Supply was started as a wholesale distributor of reloading components. The entirety of our sales came from making local deliveries to dealers throughout Tennessee, and the northern Georgia and Alabama areas. It was upon this dealer foundation that Natchez Shooters Supply grew from a two man operation in the basement of a house into the large warehouse distributor that it is today.

Due to strong loyal commitments with our local dealers that have supported our business for over 21 years, we feel that it would be best if we did not compete with our them by selling directly to their customers. We will be offering links and contact information soon of dealers in TN, GA, and AL that loyaly support us. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your understanding.
