Just arrived today. 10mm jhp for less than $20.00 per box of 50. PPU brand from sportsmans guide. I know It's PPU but it's ammo and the price was right considering not to long ago paid $36.00 for federal fmj.

Yep...despite what some alarmists on the internet have been screaming...the laws of supply and demand are not dead. There should be a public chastising of those who posted along the lines of "ammo and gun prices are never coming down again."

I scoff in their general direction.:neener:

I'll be the first to admit I'm wrong about that when I can get 9mm for $9 a box of 50. Brass cased not that other junk. When I can order my Zero and Montana Gold bullets. When I can order from Atlanta Arms. When I no longer see out of stock no backorder on sites like midway. As long as 9mm is running 30 cents a round and higher, WWB 45ACP going for 50-71 cents a round I'll continue saying prices are not going down.

From what I have been seeing, I need to purchase a .40 caliber handgun. There are boxes and boxes of it in five different flavors at my local wally world.

9mm? Forget about it!

Jim

Good call. 40 is definitely easier to find than 9 or 45 right now. In some cases, it can be had for roughly the same price as 9 as well.

Wow. 10mm ammo for $20/50. I guess that would be a bargain.

I load .45acp and 10mm (and .41 Mag, and .45LC) for about $6/50.
Oops, and .380, and .38 Spl...and I have components to do the same for .357 Mag and 9mm...as soon as I run out of loaded ammo, I'll start putting those together. :)

Yeah, I reload too but I only recently bought a 10mm. I was able to get the loaded ammo but could not find any 10mm brass. Of course I'll keep the brass and reload it.

Now isnt that strange. The caliber most used by the federal agencies is now overflowing shelves.not soon after members of congress question DHS about their ammo purchases.

fyi // imo I have heard of that Prvi .40 180gr jhp slug not opening up in 40S&W. Perhaps the extra push with the ten will. Again, just a fyi. That said...I'd bought it just to shoot !

Funny thing happened to me last night.
I was cleaning my newly purchased Ruger SR22 and I keep old newspapers and magazines out in the garage as a soaker while using various lubes and cleaners and the one I pulled out for use just happened to be a Natchez monthly catalogue from last year before the election.
Yea it was really great looking at 9mm Blazer Brass for $9.99 a box and UMC 9mm for $9.49 a box...And all you wanted to order as well.
Ammo is starting to finally come back and I truely hope the prices come down to at least pretty close to last years.
Fwiw I did get 5 boxes of PMC 9mm fmj a couple of weeks ago from Cabela's for $14.99 a box.
So there is hope guys.

Man, i like PPU to be honest. Always nice and shiny, and fires every time. Hadn't put it across a chrony or anything though.

How do you guys like those 10mms?

Stay positive, everybody. Ammo prices HAVE ALREADY come down and will continue to do so. Gun prices have done this also. Remember the $2000 basic AR's from just 6 months ago?

My local Walmart clerk lamented to me the other day that there are certain individuals who buy up all the ammo the moment that they put it out. The same guys everyday. You can help normalize the ammo market by not paying inflated prices for your stuff, especially from resellers. Let them eat that ammo.

I just got a case (1000 rounds) from Roze Dist of 115gr JHP reloads for $225 shipped...Granted I ordered them in February, but they honored the price, so kudos to them.

From the CMP, a non-profit organization: 1,000 rds. of reloadable M2 Ball for $560, including shipment in the five, free 30 cal. ammo cans.
Only two cans had lots of rust, easily cleaned.

With an SKS, ammo is .25/rd. Ammo for an AK-74 is .18/rd. Most people seem to have chosen centerfire rifles which can only use the pricey ammo.

Dr. Sandman: You might remind that Walmart staffer that some of their stores make the decision to display ammo at Random times.

22 ammo I got 2 bricks of Winchester super x any of you greedy hording so and so want to buy them? The only reason I have them is because my neighbor moved away and took his 14 year old son that I gave a 10-22 to and took him out shooting several times in the past 6 mo's he went through 6 bricks of my 22 ammo that I have had for over 20 years, his father is a drunk and wont do anything with the kid so he was happy to let me take him out and teach him how to shoot, gave him more time to drink
I loved taking the boy out and letting him shoot he loved it and so did I

A LGS near here recently had bulk .22LR in a plastic bucket (don't know the brand) for $65.oo for something like 1,400-1440 rds.
Naturally, they were out when I was there and they get it in at irregular intervals, but they DO get it. They just advised calling after they open in the mornings.

I just got a box of WWB 100 rnds @ WM in .45 for $40. When that price returns to $33 I'll be very happy. They still had 3 more boxes as I hope that the price will be much less next time.

Great brand for the money. I usually shoot PPU for my Elite Match when I'm not shooting underwood loads. The PPU shoots clean and straight for the money. I bought a bunch 6 months ago for 24.00 a box no tax or shipping, and I thought I got a deal.

You did well.

Thanks Torion. I didn't include the shipping in the price I disclosed because I bought some other stuff.
In response to Potatohead I really like the 10mm so far. I bought a Smith & Wesson 1076. now I'm addicted to 10mm ane 3rd gen smiths.
