Yep, - she really said it on Thursday in a meeting in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee. .


And the quote below from the LA Times is priceless. Sometimes even the L.A. Times gets it right.

If Snopes is correct, then I stand corrected - on the quote. But I still love the newspaper article.
 
Wouldn't put it past her either way. She wants everyone disarmed, and she will do it class by class bit by bit if she has to.

It appears the LA Times article was never published.... but its an accurate assessment. ;)
 
danez71: I agree. She probably thinks the majority of Americans are mentally ill simply because they don't agree with her.
 
What's the old line? "We simply want to keep guns out of the hands of the insane". "So how do you define insane?" "Anyone who wants a gun is insane".
 
So, she did not say it. But she might as well have said it. Which is as good as done anyway.

If we don't stay sober, if we invent or propagate wackadoodle quotes, we'll be outvoted every dog gone time. How many times have they accused Rush of saying what he has never said?
 
We need to stick with solid, verifiable facts. Urban myths no matter how satisfying, and especially when already debunked, do not help promote the RKBA. Perpetuating these sorts of attractive untruths damages our credibility.
 
In this day and age of electronic media, if no one can turn up the transcript or a recording, I think we can assume it's bogus.
 
Speedo66 is correct in what he just said, but we must, also, remember that Snopes is a left wing group and just might support the four horsewomen of the apocalypse in the USSR of C.
 
For me, the bottom line on many of the folks we disagree with is that they're "true believers" (read Eric Hoffer's book, same title) and see their efforts as a great endeavor...

Never mind that they're dead wrong and making our world into a cesspool - you won't persuade them away from their almost religious views... What we can do is oppose them at every point, keep bringing the facts to bear, and remember that they're powerless if they can't get folks to vote their way. You can't fail to note that the rise of the left in our country almost directly matches the decline of religious institutions. As that has occurred the general public is shocked by the things a few of our young people get up to. The latest outrages in innocents murdered by young thugs are only a sample of things to come if we don't restore our country's sense of right and wrong....

No. Snopes has proven itself to me many times. IMO, there is no such thing as unbiased, but they are objective and accurate. If you doubt them they always provide the info how they arrived at their conclusions so you can look it up and make your own decisions.
 
Unbiased doesn't exist anywhere. Everyone has a bias. It's impossible to be totally unbiased. Some are more objective than others, but everyone has a different point of view.
 
It looks like all actual information (in contrast to opinions and rants) is on the table. If anyone has some additional actual, verifiable information, he or she can send me a PM; and I'll consider re-opening this thread.
