And I'm addicted!! I had a blast (no pun intended). I met a great group of guys that were really gracious I'm helping a newbie out. My homemade kydex gear worked perfectly.

I shot CDP with my Kimber Custom II. There were 8 stages. My score probably wasn't the best but I didn't have any expectations other than to have fun. I was pretty proud to shoot the whole match with no Failure to neutralize, procedural, hit on a not threat, or failure to do right penalties. Had one malfunction on a stage, which the guys said I handled very smoothly. Overall a great day and can't wait until next months match. Here's a video of my last stage of the day:

Scores just got posted! Looks like I finished 5th out of the 10 CDP shooters. 2 of them were Sharp Shooters, so I'm pretty happy with the results!

The concept of IDPA is cool. But it really needs some work. None of the safety officers judge the match in the same fashion. I like to shoot a Ruger P95. I ended up getting an XD because some officers wouldn't give me a fair shake with the P95 despite having a letter in my shooting bag from the Tiger Team regarding the P95 and Berretta 92fs series.

Maybe the ammo shortage will wake up range owners. They drive off shooters by the dozens. Many of those shooters would have kept now defunct ranges open.

For those of us who are not in the know, what was/is the issue with the P95?

Jim
