Wanted to purchase a kydex pocket holster. I have experience with leather and nylon types. Anybody here use a kydex pocket holster? Is it comfortable? Easy to draw? I am pocketing a SIG p938 if that helps.

All the kydex holsters I've tried retain the pistol fairly snugly (ie- you get that snap when you holster it). Leather holds on fairly well too, ended up sticking my middle finger on top of the holster when drawing to make sure it stays in the pocket. I like the desantis nemesis. It's nylon but has some rubber nubs on the outside to hold onto your pocket so you come out with the gun and not the holster. Plus it's inexpensive.

Have an Alabama kydex pocket holster for my Nano. It is very lightweight and does retain the pistol snugly. No problem to release the initial grip while still in the pocket resulting in clean, fast draw.

Haven't had experience with any other type of pocket holster so I can't compare.

Seems to me the relatively sharp & hard Kydex edges would wear out your pocket lining faster then leather or nylon??

Just thinking out loud though??

I have no experience with a kydex pocket holster but this makes a whole lot of sense to me.

There are no sharp edges on the Alabama product. All edges are very nicely rounded and polished. Had it in my dress pants on Sunday mornings for a year and no wear on pocket linings.

I was always interested in getting the Alabama holster due to hickok45 glowing review in his pocket carry video. I just don't want to wait so long to receive it. I ended up buying a desantis superfly. So far after 2 days I like how it can be carried iwb or pocket, I am not a fan or the flap that comes with it but I will probably use it once in a while to further conceal in the pocket. Thank you all for the advice

I had a Raven Concealment Kydex holster for my G26.

Most good kydex holsters are designed with a lip that you can catch on the forward corner of your pocket so the gun comes right out; however, I got in the habit of not relying on that and pushing downward on the holster with my middle finger as I pulled upward on the gun. Seems to work pretty well, but if you get used to catching that lip on your pocket it's an unnecessary precaution.
