Was thinking of getting one. My LGS will bore sight my rifles for free. He uses the collimator (sp?) type. But I do not want to go there and take up his time every time I fiddle with a scope or take one off.

They are around $50. As long as it gets me close I am OK with that.

Any opinions or experience??

Thanks

I have one. Haven't used it. Stupid me, I waited until I was at the range on a BRIGHT sunny day, so I couldn't see the laser at all. (I'm an electrical engineer and worked with lasers in school - I KNOW this won't work well :banghead: ).

I ended up popping the upper off and sighting down the barrel. It looks like it would work well. I just haven't had a GOOD chance to try.

I have one and it does a fine job with any barrel 4" long or more.
I can use it at home at night to get me on paper at the range.
For instance, I installed a new red dot reflex sight on my Ruger 22/45 Lite and then laser bore sighted it on my mail box some fifty feet away and the next day when I went to the range I was only 1/4" off.

Sent it to me, I'll field test it for you, write a review and send it back:D

I have one and have owned it for about 3 years now. Works really well for getting "close enough" if you are sighting in a laser or your iron sights for handguns. It does not replace running real rounds through and seeing where the round goes though. I have yet to use it on any of my rifles but that is bound to change.
