Cabelas media separator!

Ive been doing the ol sift with your fingers routine for nearly two years. I finally ordered a rcbs encased media separator from midway and what do you know, one handle and the latch that holds the clamshell together was broken off

I've been using one for over 10 years, and wouldn't be without it.

I have the green Cabela's media separator and it's the same thing Berry's MFG makes for other vendors (blue for Berry's, green for Cabela's, red for Brownells/Sinclair).

Yes, it's made by Berrys. It works great I have the same one.

Yes I did it for months by hand and I felt very good about myself. I got the RCBS one, I will never go back.

I have a few and like the rotary one. Think it came from Midway about 15 or more years ago. No clue who actually made the thing but wouldn't be without it. Oh yeah, it's blue in color.

I had the cabelas/berry's but gave it to a friend. I now use the Dillon. Only reason I didn't like the cables was the way the basket half's snapped together. It did work fine though.

Have the Cabela's media separator. It was purchased as a kit with my tumbler on sale. I recall both were $65 a few years ago. Never had to empty brass one by one so I spoiled myself from the beginning in this area.

A one buck colander and dish pan from Dollar Tree works great.

I did the colander thing for a while. (Like many of us, when I got started, I was trying to find the rock bottom cheapest way to do everything.) I could never get all the media out the way I can spinning, and you can only shake the thing so hard without throwing the cases out.mand eventually your wife will make you get your own colander anyway. (Or insist that hers is no longer good for food processing and she needs a new one because you ruined it.)

My wife gets really pissed at 3 in the morning when I'm shaking that brass.

I use a chum basket and a five gallon bucket. Works great!

I use a basic kitchen colander from the dollar store inside an old plastic tub that dishwasher detergent

And I totally understand & agree, having purchased my RCBS Separator years after getting my vibratory case cleaner.

Old plastic milk jug, holes in bottom, handle on side. Sift inside paper bag. Pour shells out of jug. Pour media out of bag and back into tumbler. Done. 15 seconds. Free.

I have used the same jug for 20 years. The paper bags have been replaced a couple times.

I have used this fine item for years, still do in addition to the Cabellas. Use it and a 5 gal bucket and its just as good as the rotary one.

The only small complaint about the rotary one is the hinges, the parts come apart too easily.

cheap kitchen plastic strainer and 5 gallon bucket works well and quickly for me.

I thought the Tumbler was a MANDATORY Item for Loading... So I got one when i started Loading...

I cant IMAGINE not using it.... makes such a difference for sure.... Mine has Thousands of round thru it and is as good as Brand New....

worth the $$$$ for sure.... oh and Mine is the Cabela's Green as well

I use a Lyman which is identical to the Berrys. Excellent product.

I couldn't imagine sifting with my fingers...

Am I the only one who flips the running tumbler upside down with the sieve top still on to let the media vibrate out?

I got a sifter when I bought my tumbler, looks like a gold miner's pan with slots cut into it, sit on 5 gal. bucket, dump tumbler into it, sift a bit, all done.

I keep eyeballing one of those "fancy store bought" gadgets and thinking about buying one. I made up a sifter out of a 5 gal and 3 gal bucket. Cut out bottom of 3 gal and bolted in some cage wire. Pour into three gal which mates inside of the five. Violently shake for 15 second and I'm gtg. BUT I still keep eyeing those store bought versions...
