S&W .45ACP Wheelie

I always like seeing pics of that 25-2 of yours
I liked this one too ! It looks a lot like the S&W 1917 chop job (3" and bobbed hammer), that I used to own . Even with the stag grips, but without the fancy front and rear sights . That is some BBB (Billy Bad Behind) gun ! I like it better than mine (used to be) . Nice Job ! :D

S&w 25-2 .45acp

My favorite handgun of all time, my 3 1/4" chopped barrel S&W Model 25-2 started life in 1980 as a .45ACP 6" target revolver. I carried it concealed last weekend . . . and I love it when I can have my favorite handgun with me! This thing is incredible . . . the best trigger (single and double action I've ever experienced, radically narrowed, rounded and smoothed trigger for double action work, sharpened edged front sight for self defense situations, and more), and I can reload those moonclips as fast as I can reload my Colt 1911 limited auto!

I like it ! Who did the work ? :)

Probably my favorite snub is a model 24.
Though it's not strictly a snub, I like my 4 inch fixed sight model 21 best of all. It just doesn't seem as big as it really is, with it's very slim Kim Ahrends stocks. And Six rounds of 44 special would certainly get any bad guys attention.

Scares me!! 29-2 Ported. I haven't shot it yet.

Nathaniel_Greene, Charter Bulldogs are absolute junk.;)
Wanna sell it?

I've been a Bulldog .44 fan since about 1987.
I have one like yours, except mine is wearing Pachmayr Compacs.
It's a very comforting gun to carry.
Not super fun to shoot a lot.
A whole lot less fun to get shot with.

Personally I wouldn't get anything bigger then a 357. From what I've heard and seen they aren't pleasant at all to shoot, especially if you ever have to shoot the ammo you should be carrying in them. I would go the opposite direction and get a classic .38 Special. It's a great band, and it killed Oswald so you know it's good. :D

Golden Saber- they are really not that bad, depending on which one. A S&W 29/629 shooting .44spl is relatively a pussycat. OTOH, a S&W 329 shooting full house .44mag would probably be pretty unpleasant to most of not all shooters. As I said in a previous post, loads like .45LC, .45ACP, and .44spl use large heavy bullets at lower pressures than something like a .357mag. Their recoil is usually characterized as a push/shove rather than the swift kick that higher pressure rounds generate.

The weight of the gun, the specific load, and the grip design are all going to play into the felt recoil, so I don't that its fair to paint all large bore snubbies as being unpleasant. Especially because you say you won't own anything larger than a .357, and there are plenty of VERY unpleasant feeling .357magnums to shoot (340pd comes to mind).

A taurus 405 in 40 S&W is another contender. 33 oz loaded is lighter than "n" frame smiths, and the recoil is acceptable. Mine has no issues

Always thought the Colt Lawman with a 2" barrel made for an awesome .357 snubbie.

Saw a nice early colt lawman mark III 2" snubbed, nickel, about 85% with ok wear. Guys asking $500 - is that a decent price? I know nothing about Colts.

This one has no shroud.

I think this is a cousin to Iggy's gun! ......................................................

Another bulldog
If there is a contest for ugliest dog, this one has got to be in the running.
Poorly cold blued by myself,
Missing anodizing on the grip frame,
Rattles like a maraca at lockup,
Likes to sow the earth with tiny, spring loaded parts of itself during reassembly,
But it was the first gun I've had completely apart and I'm in love with it.

You guys impress me if you can conceal those hog legs! I think that a snubbie S&W model 65, 357 mag is a good choice, though I no longer own once since the divorce.
