I've noticed on gunbroker that there are quite a few of the P-07 models with the extended barrel and night sights, . . . . and no one bidding on them. Did CZ put out a bunch of these recently?

I wonder why there seems to be no interest for them?

Ha! Love your collection ifit, particularly the Skorpion - hopefully you dig your Rhino as much as I do mine. :) Is that barrel in your P-07 basically just the 4.53" P-09 barrel?

Orion your right, a few ext/p07s there. No clue if they imported a new batch, but keep I mind what I've seen on the well know sites, budsgunshop/jg sales/galleryofguns etc...they have more standard p07s than the ext versions. Once individuals know that it's something different from the norm...they try to make a buck or two more...after all it's gunbroker. Plus there's allot of companies nowadays that produce polymer pistols..cheaper one to choose from

Misternoisy, thanks...I always like something outa the norm and the rhino struck my interest...closest thing that resembles semi-auto revolver "Mateba" My friends keep teasing me...you buy unusual stuff, Think it's true cause I just picked up a pump action ak47...now how's that for unusual
The ext p07 barrel is 4"....standard p07 is I believe is 3.8, just wanted something different as a plus/night sights/safety only

Well, ifit, . . . I am looking forward to the day I get mine out of layaway. First and formost, . . . it's a CZ and will look nice next to my P-09. I'm sure the magazines for the P-09 will work in the P-07, right?

And yes, you do have a nice collection.

The P09 mags work in a P07 just fine.
I thought that CZ Custom had made some baseplates that will fill the gap too. Not sure if they are production yet. I saw them in a promo though.

Back to the Skorpion - according to CzechpointUSA, the frame can't be reworked into 9mmx19, but POSSIBLY 9mmMak.

Never even held a Rhino...

I have a Chiappa Rhino 200DS that is a dream to shoot. Very little muzzle flip for being a light weight alloy framed, 2" barrel .357 mag, shooting .38 +P is like shooting a very loud 22. :D

Just picked up a P07 on the used market. I've been lusting after one for quite a while. Managed to get to the range shortly thereafter and put a few mags through it. It's a keeper! Accurate, zero issues, and light recoil. Me happy!

Not sure that would work. I think you'd have a gap exposing recoil spring and barrel [from the underside].

Last week, at the LGS, there was a CZ 83 chambered in .380. Handled it, and was quite impressed with the fit, finish, and quality. The trigger was a bit heavy, but very nicely built. However, since I'm not a fan of the .380, I passed on it. Later in the day, I realized it would be very nice to own. OOPS! I called, but it had been sold.

Fast forward to this past Wednesday. Drop in the same LGS, and in the display case, is another CZ 83; this time chambered in .32 ACP. A couple of weeks ago, I had purchased a very nice Beretta Model 70; a very nice pistol, well made, and very nice shooting. Well, my Beretta could not be alone. I made an offer on the CZ 83, dealer accepted, and I took it to the range. Cleaned it, and ran 100 rounds through it. Not a single FTF or FTE. It's a really fine shooter. It's just about NIB, and came with both the inner and outer boxes.

It doesn't have the design elegance of the Beretta, but I really like the lines, and it's built like a tank.

Date stamped as 1948, this CZ-45 (.25cal) was given by my father to my mother for personal defense around 1950. I disassembled it yesterday for cleaning and will take it to the range on my next trip. Looks like it would make a nice little pocket pistol.

Along with the pistol was a full box of Remington ammo. From the condition of the box, the ammo was probably purchased with the gun .

Hello, after posting here, I was advised to bring my deliberation to this thread. I would be glad if I could get any feedback from experienced CZ users.

I am quite new to firearms - only half-a-year. Currently I have only CZ 75 Compact D (PCR) both for carry and range. I was first thinking about getting 1911 as a second firearm, but then I decided to leave the .45 purchase for later and just buy another 9mil for the range.

Having a decocker model, I am inclined to get the SP-01 Tactical (actually lack of decocker model was one of the reasons why I discarded 1911 and CZ 97 along with the fact that I still have a lot to learn when it comes to shooting, and 9mil rounds are considerably cheaper than .45). But after watching some videos with Angus Hobdel, I am thinking about the Shadow or Shadow Line. The safety and lack of firing pin block are however putting me off a bit. I don't plan to carry the gun, but it still seems a good idea to keep all the guns with decocker, at least now when I am still new to the business. When it comes to firing pin block, I have not dropped any gun yet, but still knowing that it would not go bang on me lets me sleep easier.

I dry fired both the Tactical and Shadow Line in a shop on Wednesday and I could notice a wee bit of difference, but nothing serious really.

Then there is a little devil in the back of my mind that is telling me to get a P09 and PDW conversion for more fun... is P09 any good as a range gun when compared to SP-01? I wanted to compare them at a range, but the one that has both models near me is closed now pending investigation of a girl hit by a bounced bullet :( I am planning on getting the new Scorpion EVO 3 down the line anyway, so the PDW conversion is not a must for me. BTW I am no gun nut, but after playing with it a bit in the shop (no actual shooting) I just know I will have to buy the Scorpi. Probably some time in next 3 years - VZ 58 and a shotgun will be in order after the second pistol.

Thanks in advance for your thoughts!

But I was more interested in any possible issues with the longer barrel [Canadian compliant] model.

I don't know whether the "Canadian" is any different from "Egyptian", but the Egyptian police ordered somewhere around 80.000 of P07s with longer barrel, so strictly statistically speaking, I would say that the "standard barrel" is the less common model now (worldwide).

Also, addressing the high demand, CZ moved/is in process of moving its production of polymers to a Slovak factory this year. The barrels will be outsourced from Radom, Poland. Hopefully the Slovakopolish CZ will be able to keep the quality with the Czech originals.

Also CZ is starting a factory for polymers in Brazil, I am only guessing that these might be also for US market.

This is an old thread. I got my first CZ a few weeks ago. I won't be trading or selling this one.

I got exactly the same one. I recommend changing the bottom of the magazine for a rubber extension and getting a standard 16 rd magazine as a spare for carry. (I changed the grips and front sight for fiber optic too).

Nice PCR!!

You can also use an SP01 base on a standard 16 round mag and it will fill the gap perfectly.

Armor Snail! Thank you for the great recommendation! I actually went to the CZ factory shop in the center of Prague today to get the base. The seller had a puzzled look on his face when I told him what I want it for - he sells CZs, PCR is his CCW gun and it was quite clear that he heard about this the first time. The base was $1 but he convinced me that for the base also a different bottom of the spring is needed, and that tiny bastard actually cost $12. Nevertheless I got two for the 16rds mags and it really fits perfectly! Thanks again!

A guy next to me was playing with the Scorpion Evo III. Everytime I see it I almost start to drool... I will have to put it into my timetable of purchases.

No problem. Although the spring should not need to be changed. The sp01 bases do not increase capacity. They only fill the gap of the 18 round mag.

Also. I don't know if the CZ Custom 10% spring and smaller follower are available to you but here they can be used in the 18 round mag to increase capacity to 20 or 21 rounds IIRC.

You might be able to get 18-19 rounds in the 16 round body.

Everyday I lean closer and closer to buying a RAMI next.

Even though a Compact SDP with manual safety is calling my name something fierce.

Although I'm hoping the subcompact Sphinx makes its way here.
