Hi guys!

I just saw this one on facebook posted by the maker.

I am so in love.
Wish me luck! Let`s hope the price isn't to high.
I plan to put no grip on it and make a kydexsheath for it.
(Made from a hoof rasp)

Ouch.

Just got the mail.

The maker wants almost 600$ for it.

:what:

a bit to much for something i am actually gonna use.

'tis a pretty knife, but at $600 one is paying for the pretty when many less expensive knives of similar design will do the same job.

wish i could get $600 each for my file knives. i think the most expensive bare file knife i make is less than $150 and that includes a sheath. wow. i must be doing it wrong.

The guy who shoes my horses told me that it has become common practice to case harden rasps, as only the teeth need to be hard. They aren't really tool steel or much good for making knives. I think it has been that way for 10 years or more.
Maybe they aren't all made that way, or maybe that guy used an old rasp of known quality steel, but either way I'll pass.

It's more than likely a Michael Morris knife. Very good blade, but yes there has to be a typo, his stuff is going for more like 80-150 dollars.

Robert Sederl.

Here`s the google search.
He`s pretty active on knife shows obviously.
Also life in Austria is probably more expensive than in the US.
So that`s a factor, considering the hourly wage.

I am really in love with that pattern.

But not enough to pay that price.

I am really in love with that pattern.

It looks ergonomically unpleasant to me.

I'm not sure what to call that protrusion.
Handreißengerät?

Ouch! I don't know the maker or his reputation, but I just don't see a knife worth $600 there. For that kind of price, I want a hand forged or exotic steel knife with premium handles, or at least one that demonstrates a lot more hand work than that. I bought an EDC rasp-knife from a maker over on BFC for around $60 that I was very satisfied with.

Of course, if he can get $600 for that knife, more power to him!

If you want a good using fixed blade, please check out Bob Dozier. I own several of his knives. They are, for me, as good as it gets especially at his price.

I carry a model 6 every day.
