NEW Ruger STRIKER FIRED LC9

That makes sense. I've been looking at single stacks to ease my back pain and had narrowed down to a couple other choices... this one will go into the mix. Hate that it includes that still has the magazine safety, though.
 
I googled it and saw several discussions about it from back in December of 2013. They said it was supposed to be announced at SHOT show...I guess it never was.

Have to sign up for rugerforum.net so didn't get any info there and Ruger's website makes no mention of it at all. Any other links concerning this new LC9?
 
Looks potentially faked to me. Notice that the pictures have absolutely no shots of the back of the slide. Photoshopping out the hammer would be more difficult. The press release also hasn't been put up on Ruger's actual website. Just a PDF file which could easily be made up to look like something Ruger would put out.
 
It wouldn't surprise me to find out Ruger has something in the works. They don't want to be the last one to the striker fired compact party. Still though, I don't believe it until there is an official announcement.
 
They started shipping today. They are showing up on Gunbroker already. I haven't seen any actual photos yet, but I should have a couple in my hands by Wednesday. Ruger is calling it the LC9-S, part #3235.
 
I think it is good news. I have a bunch of Rugers and like them all. My son has the LC9 and I have shot it and like it as a carry gun, but would rather have the new striker gun.

I downloaded the file and looked at both pages pretty closely. It looked authentic, to me -- particularly when they went to the trouble of making charts to compare the trigger pulls and all of the other characteristics of the various guns. I've never seen a bogus or faked presentation go to that detail.

We'll see. I think it's a good idea and a good response to the long trigger pull.

Had one, but could not stand the trigger so got rid of it. Too much arthritis in my trigger finger.
 
Was considering one but hated the long heavy trigger pull.

If this improves that nasty trigger I'm definitely interested.
 
Same here. SA triggers on DAO sized guns are usually accompanied by a higher price tag.
 
If the trigger is a big improvement over the regular lc9, which is the main complaint you hear of, this should do well. If ruger would lose the manual safety and magazine disconnect safety I would probably get one, but that's not gonna happen.
 
I wish they'd lose the mag disconnect too. I have actually had an issue now (first out of over 30 guns) with a mag disconnect disabling my gun. For the most part it isn't an issue but now it's hard for me to trust one with this "feature".
 
Never cared much for the trigger on the LC9 but do like the one on my SR9c. If the trigger on the new LC9s is anywhere close to that, I'm definitely interested.
 
I think I would be interested too. I'm sure my brother would too. He's been looking for a lighter carry gun in 9mm and likes the size of the LC9, but hates the long DAO trigger. This may be an option for him!
