Anyone seen Win 296 available lately? If so, where at.... Just wondering if i'm chasing a ghost or something... :D I haven't looked for Winchester powder is a while, i'm stocked up on 231. But going to load some 30 Carbine, and it looks like it's one of the best powders for that load. Thanks guys!!

An often overlooked powder for .30 carbine is IMR4227. It seems to be more readily available lately than H110/W296.

Grice gun shop in Clearfield, PA had some this past weekend.... Not sure where you are located though.

While I agree H110/W296 is a great choice for the 30 Carbine there are other very good choices. To add to the growing list above see if you can find some Power Pro 300-MP. Lil'Gun can be used too but I would only shoot it from a Carbine, not a revolver.

Sorry I can't point you in the direction of a pound of two of W296/H110, powder supplies are just too thin to easily find any online. You will probably have better luck locally if there are stores around you. (hard to tell since you don't provide a location)

If you are in Az. it's available almost every where, I'm seeing it on the shelf in both Phoenix and Tucson. I just bought 2 lbs. a few weeks ago, well, actually I ended up with a pound of each H110 and 296, which was no problem considering.

Went out today, LGS didn't have any 296. Had a few 748. Did see H335 again on the shelve in 1lb containers. Lot's of Reloader 15-22. Quite a bit of rifle Hodgden. Found one 8lb of H110, but don't need that much.. :) Will continue to look.... It'll come around..

Hi...
I saw W296 in three different gun shops this weekend here in southcentral Pennsylvania.
I have 3-4 pounds of W296, along with 2 or 3 pounds of H110, so I didn't buy any this week.
I use much more 2400, Blue Dot, Unique and Bullseye than W296/H110.

I also noticed some 4227 at a couple of shops...I might need to pick up a couple of pounds and work up some loads just in case the shortages of powder continues.

LGS in NH seems to have plenty 296/110 past few weeks. 110 was $175 for 8lb, 296 was $180. In general seems like powder is more available these days, although I still can't find 2400...

Yeah, i'm good on all my powder, except need 296/H100 for 30 M1 Carbine load and 2400 for 44mag load.. Can't find 296 or 2400 anywhere around here in the midwest..... yet..

You can get IMR 4227. It works in both and will make a good sub until 296 & 2400 return. I've had excellent results in .300 AAC, 7.62X39 and .45 Colt.

I am going to work up a AA#9 .30 carbine load. Love the stuff in .44 magnum.

Good thing about a powder shortage is you learn about some other good powders to use.

GS, where are you seeing these? I'm in Mesa and frequent 3 or 4 locations that used to always have stock. Now shelves are still bare. Have a commercial reloader here that used to sell powder. He won't let go of anything yet.

Where in Phoenix?

Where in Phoenix?

Thanks!

Never seen that place ^^, thanks Havoc, added it to my vendor list. They have #7 in stock, I was kind of surprised, that's a pretty popular pistol powder is it not..?
