"Hello Holland & Holland, I'd like to put a $3500 deposit on a .416 Rigby double rifle, I'll fly to London next month for the fitting". :what:
I love her, but she opened the door!! :D

I'd buy a .26 nosler rifle.. can't wait in one year i can hide enough money from her to buy it anyways. . Lol...

First off, most of your $3500 would be gone just getting there... Then once there, they would want you to pick a cartridge that was rimmed... (and that would be a smart move!)

Simple. I've been drooling over this (as a figure of speech that is) for some time:
The Desert Technical DTA SRS-A1 Covert Rifle Chassis - a bull pup bolt action long range rifle platform with either the .308 or 338 LM barrel system.
But since I can't decide yet between the two calibers, you might as well buy it instead.

This is actually a real possibility for me.
I think I'll go with the LaRue PredatOBR in 5.56...
...make a great backpack rifle for if SHRF while hunting.
in bear cuontry i'm carrying in my hands a Sako .375H&H mag. or my Ruger GuideGun .416Ruger., with my S&W .500 in a custom Galco Chest Rig.

I dunno, the JP PSC-11 are nice too.

I'd first get her a really nice present, treat her to a classy night out, and buy a .22lr rifle we could both play with with the 10% remaining.

Not that I'm that generous ... I know how to build up a few credits for the next time I do some dumb a** thing.

Opps, I meant the LaRue PredatOBR , the takedown model.
Just wish they offered it or at least a barrel for it in .300AAC BO.

Wait time too long on LaRue, not sure I'd be breaking it down very often, as well...

Gonna get the Wilson .458SOCOM with an Xtra upper, their .223 Wylde sniper.

Something different & BIG...may come in handy if I want to AR hunting bear country?

I'd probably get a heart attack.

Well, you never know, felt the same way.
Women are unpredictable...have you noticed that?
Anyone?

Hang in there, it may happen...
...heck,I always was content with her not complaining that I spent my own "mad money" on guns & ammo!
Just exceeded my expectations:cool:

Honestly, I'd probably spend it all on ammo and training, and maybe taking her out to dinner once.

But, since you asked...

A new AR set up. Either 223 or 6.5 Grendel, maybe a 308. Something less M4gery and more Designated Marksman Rifle

I've decided on the Wilson .458 SOCOM Tactical RECON SR 14.7" ...
...maybe later add their .300AAC BO upper, as it shoots all ammo un-suppressed.

Wilson tech, says adjustable gas block not needed, even to shoot subsonic
un-suppressed?
I thought that a adjustable gas block was a must...was told by couple of other top Rifle makers, that's so?
Now i've read both...that the gas block must be adjustable to allow in enough gas to cycle the bolt, but then dial it back for supersonic...
...vs., but now being told by some, not needed???
It even states it in Wilson Combat's FAQ Rifle section...?

At JP Rifles they tell me they put adjustable gas blocks on ALL the rifles, and the .300 would need it, and they use "pistol-length", regardless of barrel length for the .300Blackout.
There are others, like at Daniel Defense, however saying it's all about the Buffer tube & spring...
... which has gotten even more confusing, as the guy from Daniel Defense saying for the low power subsonic heavybullet ammo, you need a "lighter" tube & spring...but others saying, other written sources such a AAC, say a H2 or H3 heavy buffer is the ticket, because you want to slow down the bolt carrier to allow more "time" for the gas intake?

Can anyone sort this out...?

I have a ton of subsonic and would like to shoot it when I get this Wilson upper...just not sure how to "order" the upper?
Adjustable Gas block, which is an "option",
or "standard" for Wilson Combat, which is a non-adjustabe gas block for thier
.300AAC BO. guns & uppers.

Oops, sorry, I just hijacked my own thread...off topic, but did not want to start a whole new thread for an answer?

I'd get a Steyr AUG A3 and accessories. I've wanted an AUG since the late 1980s, and was seriously bummed when the gun ban zealots ran the price up out of my reach.

First thing I would get would be an MRI for my wife's brain because I'm guessing she would have lost her mind. :)

If the MRI came out OK I'd get myself an Accuracy International or at least I would have not so long ago. It seems the prices have gone way up since the record kill made by Craig Harrison using an AI AW. I would go with a rifle in that type of configuration though. I suppose I'd want to spend a good chunk of that money on the right scope too.

I would thank her, and tell her that she is much more special to me than any rifle. Then I would put it towards a nice gift for her...But then, my safe is about full.
