What handgun points more naturally for you

Don't have much experience with either the 1911 or the Glock (have only spent one range session with either.)

My Bersa Thunder 380 is a doggone-natural pointer, more so than my Ruger P95. Compact and midsize (not so much subcompact) guns seem to point well for me, and autos a bit more than revolvers.

I haven't shot it yet, but I bet my Bulgarian Makarov will do as well. It certainly feels like it in hand.

Ruger Blackhawks have always pointed naturally for me - aiming not required.

PPK, BERETTA 21 and Glock 42. I've got medium hands, and these little pistols fit nicely.

1911 gummint model with an arched MSH feels like puttin' on an old sweater.
It just naturally fits and points the same way.

Hi power hands down for me.

Although I have no issues with glocks or pretty much any handgun. As soon as I aim at my target and put my finger on the trigger.......putting my finger on the trigger part, pulls the muzzle down and lines the sights up pretty much. With no need to really adjust my grip.

1911, Beretta FS's, all the Sig P's except for the P938. Just picked up a H&K USPc 9mm and it is quickly becoming one of my favorite guns.

Cannot shoot a Glock. Had 3-19s, 3-26s and a 17 and couldn't shoot any of them. I keep trading for one of them on the hopes I can learn to shoot it. But, can't.

1911, BHP, CZ 75B, Sig P228, H&K P30 with the large backstrap & grip shells, Gen3 Glock 17 with a Hogue Handall grip, Gen4 Glock 21 with the large backstrap

I'm a S&W revolver guy, but have to say that my CZ82 and CZ85 pointed the best...and I shoot them best.

The Colt's revolving belt pistol of naval caliber points the best of all handguns that I've tried.

All mine aim very well in my grip. Perhaps the one I most enjoy for pointability is my Automag II.

My EDC is a Colt 1991A1, which I like very much from this perspective.

I wanted to learn to shoot small guns like the Ruger LCP. I have seen men that can shoot such small pistols accurately, so I knew it was possible. I bought a JA22 to practice with because the JA22 is the same size as most mouse pistols. Another reason I choose the JA22 is only paid $75 for it. I soon learned the secret to shooting mouse pistols is learning to point shoot with them. The sights are to small to be effective on most mouse pistols. After a few thousand rounds of 22 ammo I could point shoot any small pistol very well out to 5 yards.

You have to put in the work to point shoot. Once you master the art of point shooting you can shoot any gun. If you can only shoot certain guns your grip is faulty and those certain guns hide your faults. I will agree that guns do fit certain people better. But for combat accuracy you should be able to shoot any gun.

It is really hard for people that only shoot at ranges to learn to point shoot a gun because the rules make it impossible. You cannot learn to combat shooting by shooting at a target in a way that someone else deems safe. Watch any IDPA match. Those shooters did not learn those skills by shooting slow fire at static static targets.

The BHP, H&K VP9, and a SAA do the best in my hands.

VP9 has the small panels and backstrap.

In the 80's I had a S&W Model 10, 4" that was an excellent piece that nailed rabbits from a moving truck with ease. Thinking it was all me and not the gun, I sold it. Duh! Took decades but I finally found another point & shoot gun... my Walther PPK/S. Learned the hard way that you don't just sell off a gun you point & shoot well. I think they're too difficult to find! My Ruger SR1911 is a close comparison to the PPK but I really miss that model 10!!!

The P08 Luger is a natural pointer.

I agree to a point but point shooting is simple...the hardest part is believing and leaving sighted fire alone while you work out the details. Airsoft is your friend and all the skills gained transfer directly...you can point shoot to your hearts content, find an exact replica of most firearms, and do it in your apartment/home with the right precautions.

It's easy and intuitive once you believe and prove that you can do it and stop looking at the sights.

Even though the 1911 is hard to beat the H&K 45c does edge it out for me.

I have a Glock but I just can't like it. I don't shoot semi-autos often so I haven't shot many. I don't own the H&K 45c but I have shot one many times. Great pistol IMO.

Smaller pistols and K-frame revolvers,,,

Anything in the Walther PPK style,,,
Such as my Bersa Thunder 22 and 380.

When I'm snap-shooting I do very well,,,
When I raise the pistol to aim it,,,
The sights naturally align.

Same thing for K-frame S&W's with small square (Magna?) grips,,,
But if I put the Target sized grips on my Model 15,,,
That natural pointing thing goes away.

One other that always surprises me is,,,
My Taurus 22-PLY/25-PLY.



The ergonomics of that little mouse gun fit me perfectly,,,
It doesn't have very much in the way of sights,,,
But I can snap shoot the pistol quite well.
