Thanks for all the information guys, this is part of my research, and as @Shlike added, the Sig 2022 is in the lead for me at the moment, I mean for the price, other then the polymer frame, its a Sig for glock money, IMO cannot get much better then that.

Absolutely and the SP2022 is very close in size to the P229 and noticeably lighter.

I love my hammer fired SIGs buy since Illinois now allows CCW I mostly carry a Walther PPQ striker fired which is just a tad larger then a Glock 19 and almost as light and is and amazing weapon.

M&P is so versatile with the ability to extend capacity for range fun. Personally my CCW is the sig 938. Awesome accuracy plus conseable.

Didn't have time to check if it was suggested, but look at the Kahr CW9. With a Hogue grip, it is one of my favorite guns to shoot so far. High quality, though the magazines can be glitchy sometimes with insertion. Still, highly recommended.

Sig p320 conpact....feels full sized...plenty of rounds....modular...better trigger than glock.

skip the sig 2022--the p250 is a bette r option for a "cheap" sig

the other s are fine for a first gun-- you will probably buy them all over time any way

as a wise man said to me my first trip to the lgs--buy one of everything--LOL

and I am working on that--LOL

I don't have any of the guns listed but I have come close to buying 226. But then I come back to CZ75B. One because I prefer metal guns and second is I prefer hammer over striker. Personal preference.

Don't overlook the CZ P-09 for a full size poly carry gun. Extremely accurate, DA/SA, and very reliable. Been carrying mine for a year and love it.
