    S&W 3913 NL

Congrats! $499 for that 3913NL is a steal. Especially these days. I had mine on today while instructing. I demonstrated a couple of techniques using it. While I was focused on teaching and speaking, not focused on shooting, I noticed after two mags my 3913NL had torn a small hole in the target...

    Small 45acp Pistol Recommendations

I carry a CS45 more than any of my other compact 45s. Very accurate and 100% reliable with 230 Speer Gold Dot. I did modify mine with a set of cut down Delrin grips. Thins it out nicely. Regards 18DAI

So Which Would You Carry? Pick One.

I own several of the pistols you listed. While the 4513TSW early variant, is my favorite handgun, my CS9 gets carried the most, these days. Buy a good 9mm defensive round, that your CS9 shoots reliably and accurately and call it good. I use Winchester Ranger 147 grain RA9b in my CS9. Good luck...

    Any Novak's custom 3rd Gen S&Ws here?

    Best Smith and Wesson auto

While I use and carry the 45 3rd Gen pistols more often, I would have to choose the 3913 as the "best" pistol S&W Produced. It is everything the 39XX series Father - the ASP 9mm, aspired to be. And S&W stole heavily from both Paris Theodore and Charles Kelsey's designs. My personal favorite...

    S&W 3rd Gen love/hate?

While I am fortunate in having a......small herd of 3rd Gen guns to choose from, in my semi retirement I find I carry my CS45 and CS9 most often. Both have been modified with cut down factory Delrin grips. Made by a talented young man over on another board. I put a rubber grip sleeve over the...

    Most RELIABLE 9mm handgun?

S&W 3913. Thousands of rounds through it. Zero malfunctions. Only thing I've done is change recoil springs and kept synthetic grease on the rails. Great 9mm pistol! Regards 18DAI

Has DA/SA gone out of style?

Out of style? Not for those who know how to work a trigger and shoot. Regards 18DAI

    S&W 3rd Gen love/hate?

Love them! I have been carrying them since the 90s till today. Started with a 910 issued to me, then a 4506-1, 4566 on duty and a 4513TSW, 3913 and 457 for off duty/Court gun. In retirement from Investigations I picked up a CS45 and CS9 - I wish I'd had the CS45 back when I worked plainclothes...

    3rd Generation S&W Autos

Yes! CS9, CS45, 4513TSW, 457 customized with Novak night sights and a new to me 3913NL. These are my EDC guns. Same manual of arms and they all share two different holsters. As a Firearms Instructor at the local indoor range, I also picked up a beater 5903 to teach with too. And I still...

Will Smith and Wesson ever get rid of the internal lock on their Revolvers?

They just fired Debney last week. So, maybe there is hope for the future. ;)

Will Smith and Wesson ever get rid of the internal lock on their Revolvers?

Colt is making revolvers again. With one piece barrels that are properly aligned and decent triggers on them. No idiot lock either. Who cares what the company calling itself s&w does? Ruger makes nice revolvers too! :)

Old Smith Autos should be the new 1911.

Actually, Apex Tactical, the company that gives the m&p everything the company calling itself s&w couldn't be bothered to - good trigger/accurate barrels - has said it will begin producing spare parts for the 3rd gen guns. Not that they are needed. In almost 28 years of carrying and shooting...

Old Smith Autos should be the new 1911.

A Shadow II is hardly a standard CZ. And not easily available or quickly purchased with its $2K price tag. A better comparison would be a Performance Center 5906 or even a PPC 9 to the Shadow II.
