Sierra Game King vs. Hornady Interlock

In 30-06 velocities you're probably good with either choice. Shoot them both and see which shoots better in your rifle. I loaded up some 130gr Sierra Pro-Hunter bullets in my 270 Weatherby Mag 10 years ago and shot a 10-point with a single shot to the lungs. The bullet ended up doing some...

    Thinking about selling

I agree with this but also would recommend finding the right FFL to complete the transactions. I had a recent experience with an FFL on GB who also didn't like to respond to emails or communicate in general.

    Brownell's Howa Actions

Weatherby uses them in their Vanguard series but the Mark V and others are different. The Howa1500/Weatherby Vanguard is a solid action though. I have several Vanguards and the actions lock up tight and I've had no issues with them.

    9.3x62 vs .375 h&h

From everything I've ready, the sweet spot for the 9.3x62 is the 286gr projectile. I handloaded some Hornady Interlocks in that weight. If you push the loads up around the max pressures, you can get 2300-2400 at the muzzle, which is pretty impressive for this cartridge IMO. I would have no...

    9.3x62 vs .375 h&h

I know Sako currently chambers both the 375 H&H and the 9.3x62. Sauer also chambers new rifles (or did recently anyways) in 9.3x62. I think you'll find more new offerings from the more common manufacturers in 375 H&H. Winchester and Weatherby both chamber 375 H&H in one or more configurations...

Keep .280 Rem or sell for something else?

Another vote for keeping the 280. I just recently acquired one earlier this year and took it to the range for the first time this week. It shot about as nice as it looks and its one of my nicer looking rifles. Keep the 280 and get a short action lightweight setup in a common chambering if you're...

    Gun safe in garage….in Texas

Temps shouldn't be an issue but humidity will be as others have mentioned. I also agree with @Pat Riot with regards to security and keeping folks from seeing your safe in your garage when your door is open; this is especially a consideration if you live on a busy street or in a neighborhood...

Today isn’t a national holiday, but it should be

LOL great post! I own 3, 308s... and while they aren't my own "favorites", they're still great!

Would you find this interesting? Sporterized Amberg 1914 Kar 98 in .270 for $475

I really like sporterized bolt-action milsurps when done right. I own several myself. Most were already sporterized to some level before I got my hands on them. A picture would be cool like @JeffG mentioned. For me, I would have to do a scope which means probably altering the bolt handle and...

Lever action rifle - fast action, western in appearance, suitable for deer hunting, in a more ubiquitous caliber, and of a quality build. Which one?

While I don't own one, I really like what they offer. Box mag so you can use pointed ammo. Lightweight options. Cool chamberings! You can still get one chambered in 358 Win according to their website. Straight and curved stock options. Wood and blued steel :)

    Silencers - Why?

https://regulations.atf.gov/478-129/2016-12100#478-129 - this is where I was getting the 20 years... section B Once a year is too much for me! Man, that's the story I got from him... I wasn't there. Enjoy your weekend!

    Silencers - Why?

Can you sell a firearm with a silencer in a FTF transfer?

    Silencers - Why?

I assume you're referring to the 4473 form? That paperwork only exists on record with the dealer used for the transaction (20 years for completed transactions, 5 years for denied/cancelled transactions). It can be queried by LE in the instance of investigating a crime but otherwise falls under...

    Silencers - Why?

I agree with you, in concept on the first two point of suppressing sound and reducing recoil. I'm basing that off my understanding of how my one rifle with a muzzle break theoretically works. I'm curious about the accuracy part though. How would a suppressor increase accuracy? I'm honestly...

My dad's stolen 1911 is back home

Thanks for sharing this story! What shape is the bore in? Were you able to make it out to shoot over the weekend? I have a similar Kimber 1911 and it's very picky on what ammo I feed it, from a functional perspective.
