my wife carries a 642 with a trigger job with the larger CT grips and has no problems with Gold Dot Short Barrel. its important to have good grips and the right hold on the gun.

I like the sig round in my G23 with a G32 barrel. I never get setback with Gold Dot or HSTs. as far as target ammo I buy from Georgia arms @ 30.00 per 100.00 [9.00 shipped], for SD ammo I can easily find it online for less than .45 ammo. for both 9mm and the sig round I don't go below 124grns...
for me shooting a g32 with Gold Dot or HSTs in the 125grn don't recoil as bad as my 23 with .40 165grn GD. for me the sig round seems to recoil quicker than the .40. I think the blast often gives the shooter the idea it recoils more.
