I have a 4 5/8 flattop convertible and it is a great woods companion, I just picked up one of the new SBH 5 shot 480s. I suspect that my flattop will get a lot more use with the ACP cylinder now. The nice thing about the ACP cylinder is that you can walk into any Walmart and buy a box of Ammo.

Typically FMJ ammo is prohibited for use whlie hunting(it is in NH). However a hardcast lead bullet will perform much the same as an FMJ while getting pass for use while hunting. Other states may have different rules regarding FMJs and hunting.

I actually own a scout and have shot it at 300 yds using ball ammo and it works just fine. I have a 2.75 burris scout scope. I suspect once I learned where to hold on a 400yd target I could hit there as well. Some of my handloads will shoot less than an 1" at 100 yds.

I would use a Bushnell TRS-25, I have one on a G3 and it has held up quite well. I plan on putting another on may AR and mossberg 590.

They stopped making it because they relied on factory ammo as their source of brass. They pulled down the ammo and reloaded it. Handloading can improve performance, you have to be very carefull as it is very easily overloaded.

I put a Burris on my GSR, great glass! I tried a Bushnell TR25 on it and it works nicely however the rifle shoots so well I decided it need some magnification. I liked the Burris over the Leupold mostly because the Burris seemed more compact.

I bought wolf slugs at sportsmans guide, they are a brenneke design and are very accurate in my mossberg 930 SPX.

I've been shooting wolf/Tula through mine without issue. I think the GI has 1-10" twist so it should shoot a heavier bullet.

I suggest getting some Brenneke slugs as well, They have always been much more accurate in the shotguns I have used them in. It you don't want another Barrel I second the Clamp on rib sights. Good Luck.

I don't think 45ACP or Rim brass will work. As far as loading data goes I loaded for a 455 that I had a few years ago. I used Bulk Remington 255 Grain lead bullets that Midway sells I think they were .454 cal. I can't remember what powder/ data I used. 455 Webley is not loaded to 45ACP levels!

When you fire a shorter cartridge in a longer chambered gun you run the risk of eroding the chamber in front of the case mouth, or building up fouling in that area. This will likely cause hard extraction. How many 45 colt and 454 rounds have you fired? I had a Freedom arms 454 a number of years...
