Bought a Charter Arms 'cuz they can't be that bad.....

I have 4 Bulldogs from 1974 to 1986. I shoot one cylinder full every time I go to the range. I think they are awesome little guns. I carry one twice a day during our dog walks.

    Charter Arms

I am certainly no expert on the newer ones but I have 1 Bridgeport, 3 Stratford’s and one Shelton. They have all been perfect. I carry one twice a day walking the dog. It’s just hard beating a 19.5 oz. 44 Special. Nothing else on the market like it!

    Charter Arms quality

I can’t add too much to this discussion concerning the newer Charters, but for what’s it’s worth, I have been collecting the 1st gen Bulldogs for decades now and absolutely love them. I have never had a problem with any of them. Admittedly, I don’t shoot them much, just a cylinder full every...

This is what I'm after... https://charterfirearms.com/collections/frontpage/products/classic-bulldog-style-wood-grips except for a more period correct set to match my early 70's model. I think they look great!

Anybody anxious for the new Ruger GP100 in .44 Special?

I would like one too. I'm hoping for a 2inch snubbie though:)

You are most certainly correct Gordon. I fully agree with the need for the Pachys on the little Bulldog. I'm just really drawn to the classic lines of this little revolver with the wood stocks. In my opinion you just cant beat blued steel and wood grips on revolvers :) I'll have to find a nice...

Here's the old girl. Serial number 252733. According to Mr. Jim's research, this one should be early 70's. Gotta find some period correct wood grips though, these Pach's look horrible. Although they feel real nice in the hand I think they take away from the asthetics of the revolver.

Hey fellas, I picked up am old Bulldog this weekend with serial number 2527XX which should put in in the early 70's. However, it has the nasty goodyears on it. Its in pretty decent shape and has a pretty darn tight lock-up also. I'll post some pictures when I get time so I can be an official...

    Revisiting the Sp101

Thank you sir!! I'm a big AK lover so I thought the avatar was appropriate :) I use it on all the forums I frequent. I did not polish the Ruger. I bought the revolver that way a few years ago from a local pawn shop for 325 plus tax and background. I believe it dates to 1995. I did however...

    Revisiting the Sp101

I'm not a huge Ruger guy, but the SP101 is one I definitely like. When I carry it, I use a Don Hume 721OT. This one is wearing an XS big dot night sight and Badger boot grips. It shoots great and handles well.

    Makarov refinish

Thank you sir, the old finish is not removed. You just need to blast it to rough it up some in order for the Moly-resin to adhere. On this particular project, I blasted it with baking soda. Kevin.

    Makarov refinish

Thank you everyone for the kind words. I have used Moly-Resin for years now on my AK's. It holds up great. However, there may be better products on the market, but I have no experience with them. I cut my teeth on John Norrell's products so I'm very familiar with it and comfortable with its...

    Makarov refinish

Thank you sir for the kind words. I am so bad at taking before pictures. I guess its because I'm all caught up in the moment of trying to make it look better that I dont think about it. I realize that its "just" a Makarov, but it was a fun project none-the-less.

    Makarov refinish

Hey guys. My buddy pick up an old 1990 Bulgarian Makarov that was in pretty rough shape and I ended up with it :). All of my other projects are mostly caught up so I thought I would try my hand at freshening her up a little. I have been a big fan of moly-resin over the years, so I chose flat...
