Head shots are good, unless you're into eating brains. High velocity bullets of adequate game calibers as suitable for body shooting will do a wonderful job on the head too. The skull usually provides a larger fatal zone than a neck.
Light weight scopes are easier to keep secure as they don't stress the mounts as much as a heavier scope... but the stronger, more robust and reliable scopes are often built heavier.
A high quality light weight scope, without a large objective lens and other gimmicks will give the most reliable...
.204 or .223
I have both in Sako rifles and I like both rounds. Both are very accurate but the .204 is easier to hit with at long range, less affected by wind, and a more spectacular killer of varmint's.
