Gauging the future price of magazines

Psyopspec: I never said Obama introduced any legislation, I said he has suggested a course of action based on what Biden has told him and it is likely that suggestion that will turn into legislation in the house. And no, this isn't "panic buying". If it were I would not be asking for empirical...

Gauging the future price of magazines

I have an opportunity to purchase several steel bulgarian AK47 magazines at my local gun shop. They are asking $40 for the 30 rounders and $50 for the 40 rounders. From what Obama has suggested all magazines will be grandfathered in so I understand they will still be available for purchase even...

Sound Good Gun Laws you would support?

If you take a theoretical approach to the question the 2nd Amendment is all the 'gun laws' we need in a constitutional republic. If you take a behavioral approach, not a single gun law has proven affective, so again, no additional laws needed. I used to advocate background checks and...

A little rant at people telling individuals to move out of NY State

It is certainly commendable to stay and fight the law but the fact remains that New York is a liberal haven. Unless NYC breaks off and becomes its own state (god forbid) there is no amount of influence that will bring NY back to reason. Those suggesting others move are simply being pragmatic. If...

Origin of the 7-Round Magazine Limit?

From the articles I have read you actually are not allowed to keep magazines that are capable of holding more than 7 rounds. Politico said the bill 'allows NY residents 1 year to sell their "high capacity" magazines out of state". Apparently after that anyone caught with a magazine holding more...

An attack on the Second Amendment is really an attack on the Bill of Rights

Yes, and it was Madison who said the only way to avoid factionalism (AKA tyranny by the majority) was to put the full power of the government in the hands of the people. Granted, he also kept power out of the hands of said people, but his points ring true. Inalienable rights do exist for a...

An attack on the Second Amendment is really an attack on the Bill of Rights

A representative republic is the method through which we execute democracy.

An attack on the Second Amendment is really an attack on the Bill of Rights

No, this is not "correct", in fact this is flat out wrong. We live in a democracy which means our first and foremost defense is our ability to enact political change. This tautology shows a reactionary mindset rather than a respect for the power of our political system. It is as if you are...

Texas lawmaker wants to outlaw gun ban if it

Except in this case the ATF would have a considerably greater mandate to crack down. The laws in Colorado and Washington have gone unaddressed largely because public sentiment is on their side. Much fewer people are ardently opposed to an AWB than to the War on Drugs, and even then we have seen...

    CT School shooting update

This is unbearably tragic. I can't imagine what the families are going through. And not to be incentive, but if there is any tragedy that will spark calls for gun control, it will be this one. Somewhat reminiscent of the Cleveland shooting in 1989 before the AWB.

    Quickly grab your nearest firearm!

Close call between my CZ-75 Compact in my nightstand and my Rem 870 behind my bed, both could be reached without getting up.

    Do you pay the 3%?

Never use CC, don't like what they can lead to. The 3% for me would just be extra incentive not to do so.

What do you do with your gun locks?

I just throw them away, got no need for cheep locks and I don't see how'd they raise the resale value on anything I got. Although, I kinda wish I still had them all, I like the idea one of you had about sending them to Brady. How I'd love to see their face when they'd open a box of 50 locks:D

    Help with pump-action 22...

I store my 22s on a gun rack in my room, I wouldn't want the action to get dust or anything else inside. Besides, even when I load up the new magazine I still have to cock the bolt forward, dry fire, and cock it back for the bolt to pick up the new round.

    Help with pump-action 22...

I have a Remington Model 12 that I love to fire, problem is to eject that last shell I obviously have to cock back the bolt and when you slide the bolt closed there is no way I know to decock it. You can't hold the trigger while you slide the bolt closed, the only way I know to decock it is to...
