    Bird Shot for SD?

If you are worried enough about over penetration that your wondering about bird shot then maybe research the effectiveness of some heavy goose loads (F. T, BBB). I know of one instance where a load of "T" shot killed a bear at point-blank range. reason for suggestion is that steel shot retains...

    Mohawk 48

A friend of mine has one, very reliable weapon. The Mohawk 48's were made up to use the left over 11-48 parts. as i recall his gun liked rem-oil for lube on the mag-tube.

    Kodiak 260 22mag

my grandpa had a clip fed Kodiak .22 mag. he never fired it but the friend he sold it to had no luck with it. the receivers were some kind of soft alloy and wore out quickly. also the clip had serious feed issues.

lot's of good advice here. pyramydair.com has a great selection and i believe you can sort by price. my personal air rifle is a sheridan .20 cal with a williams peep sight. only drawback is pumping between shots.

    Mold on my Guns?

scooter22 i believe you are correct on the mildew. i found this handy site on how to deal with it http://extension.missouri.edu/p/GH5928. i'm going to try the washing soda solution to wash the mold off and see if that gets rid of it. i had been wipinf the stocks with break-free CLP but it does...

    Oversized #11 Nipples?

my 1858 Remington has this problem. one of the nipples was squatted from the factory, so getting a cap on can be a trick , i helped it by chucking the nipple in my drillpress and then used a file to slim it down( this does not work at all with ampco nipples). also, if you happen to get the RWS...

    Sheridan Question

i would take it to one of the places craftsman listed. it's been my experience that a dedicated airgun guru can get the job done faster and better than me. and the work is usually guaranteed.

Where to find light loads for old guns?

light loads buffalo arms has black powder shells. also polywad and ballistic products have lighter smokeless loads for old guns. though from a machinist's perspective the gauge mate idea sounds the safest.

    Rework short-chambered A5?

I have a 2 9/16" chambered FN A5 16ga. i've been thinking of having reworked to 2 3/4". was wondering if anyone has experience with this here and if so does it affect the reliability/ durability of the gun? i'm not worried about collector value as the gun looked like it'd been used as a hammer...

Which Is A Better .357? Colt, Ruger, Smith?

i'm voting for the smith k-frames. they're not the most durable, and mine seizes after 35ish rounds of rapid fire. however, i can't seem to part with that 4" recessed and pinned 19-3. i still have the wood grips on it. maybe its because it was my first centerfire hand gun, but also every time i...

    Mold on my Guns?

it'd definitely not wax, it grows on nylon slings as well as synthetic rifle stocks. it smells too, my nose goes bonkers when i clean it off. i'm thinking one of those golden rod inside the safe dehumidifiers might be the way to go? i'm leery of desicant, some came into contact with my...
