If the thumb safety is moved down by pulling the trigger, the geometry of the projection on the inside of the thumb safety which blocks the sear is maybe wrong. It could be that it meets the sear at an angle instead of perpendicular to it. The sear could also have an out of spec geometry. Or...
Bought a Pro1000 and eagerly awaiting its arrival. I intend to use it as initially posted by jefmad as I keep my brass cleaned and primed in sealed plastic containers. I plan to mount the press on the left side of the bench and use my left hand to operate the lever and the right to place the...
The 2 EB Safeties have been properly fitted to the sears in both the Norinco and ARMSCOR. Both block the sears on each of the 2 1911s and there's no sear movement with the safety "on" on the two. The problem is the EB safety on the ARMSCOR would not fully go down to the "off"...
Hi Riss,
Yes the EB wide thumb safety is what I'm using too. It will not go in fully because the part that blocks the sear probably has not been trimmed to the proper height yet. No, don't use a mallet. You'll have to see how much metal needs to be removed at the proper place and use a file...
Bought 2 EB thumb safeties recently. One for my Norinco and one for my ARMSCOR widebody.
The one I installed on the Norc fit really nicely. The one on my ARMSCOR would not completely go into the "off" position to engage the plunger. At first I thought the inner side of the paddle was hitting...
This is how I installed 2 EdBrown safeties in my 2 1911s.
Remove the old thumb safety. The grip safety will come out with the MSH in place in some but not in other 1911s. Pull the hammer into full cock and try to insert the new thumb safety. Odds are it will not fully go in. Put the thumb...
I have the Lee Classic Turret. Got it from Kemfp. Sue is a nice person to deal with. We exchanged emails until I got everything that I needed for the set-up I had in mind. I did some research and asked around before placing my order. Here's how I got my reloader set up.
I have 2 bullet...
Happened to me today, I was also having a tough time making the bullet seat die be consistent (some are seated shorter than the other)... bullets are also getting stuck in the bullet seat die with some case and if I used another case, out comes the bullet seated in the case… weird :uhoh:. Turned...
Fall back
"Check the clearance with the gun upside down. If the barrel falls back up toward the slide and eliminates the clearance"
--------------------
Barrel falls back to the slide, Tuner. I'll order some short links tonight from Dawson Precision, both .2755 and .273. Here are some...
Did it
Took the plunge. Took off .005 from the bed. ARMSCOR barrel with .278 link now passes the swinging arm test. Still the top of lug#1 shows impact marks... a little smaller than the one before, but it's still there.
