    Sig p210 American

I handled one when the first came out and I was seriously impressed. The first word that came to mind when I picked it up was "svelte". Unfortunately I'm left-handed and the single-sided safety doesn't agree with me. I do hope SIG does something a little more ambidextrous in the next...

What happened to the Sphinx Pistol's popularity?

I was actually very interested in picking up a Sphinx SDP. However, being a lefty with large hands means I must at least dry fire a pistol a few times before making a decision. I finally found one in a local shop - it was VERY nicely finished, but one pull of the trigger in D/A mode and I lost...

    Kimber Revolver

I've handled 3 so far. Honestly none of the triggers felt that great to me, but I've had all of my S&W's triggers slicked up by a competent gunsmith. I view the Kimbers as bringing only one thing to the table: an extra round in a J-frame sized snubnose. 6 vs 5 rounds isn't enough of a...

Which one of these over-the-top handguns would you choose?

I voted S&W 500 because, well, I already lost one in a tragic boating accident.

I've gone through nearly every thin carry gun...still looking.

I was also going to suggest the Colt Defender in 9mm, but there's an incremental step downward in size from that: the Springfield EMP. It's bigger than the SIG P938 and smaller than the Colt Defender. The folks I know who own them really like them. Too small for my hands, though. And not a...

    Absolute smallest centerfire ...

I think this is the latest version of the pocket auto comparison. https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B22wLsyYEkTOMDU4MjJlNTktOTRlZi00NTJkLWE0MGMtZmEwNGFlMWE3ZDlm/edit?hl=en_US&pref=2&pli=1

Has anyone built a Glock on a Spectre80 80% lower?

Hey Mike. I too was looking at this thing but lost interest when I discovered the rear rails were formed from polymer. I have no problems trusting a properly-designed polymer receiver to house a fire control group and retain an upper but I have no faith in it as a bearing surface.

    Ideas for 6.5 Grendel build...

I use a standard carbine buffer and spring in my 6.5. I'm running a Magpul UBR stock on it because I need the collapsibility over the adjustability a PRS would provide. No issues ... so far. :D A fixed rifle stock would require a rifle spring and buffer.

Must've been of porcelain, and cost more than I make in a month!

    P229 vs SP2022

With a threaded barrel? The P2022 is under $600 with a threaded barrel.

    Ideas for 6.5 Grendel build...

I shoot a 6.5 Grendel that I built around a 20" Black Hole Weaponry barrel (technically .264 LBC). I learned a lot about building a precision AR over the course of this. Whether your rifle is capable of sub-MOA accuracy has a lot to do with the quality of the upper (the barrel, especially)...

    P229 vs SP2022

The P2022 is a great budget suppressor host. I've seen a couple with threaded barrels for under $600. If--like me--you're not fond of striker-fired pistols, they're the only game in town in that price range.

VZ 1911 grips: which are most aggressive?

I have a set of Recons on my Springer TRP. Compared to them the 20 lpi checkering on the front strap feels smoother than a baby's bottom. That's the checkering that everyone complains about being "too rough" and damaging to their hands. I really can't imagine something grippier than the...

    45 bottlenecked to 9mm

I just thought ".38 Stupid" was funny. :D I don't see how one could generate enough velocity to result in accelerated barrel wear, either.
