    Sig Mosquito

We had the Sport model with longer barrel and added front weight which really kept recoil low, plus you can take the added weight off and the longer barrel can be threaded at a later date. However, we used mini-mags exclusively and it was still only 95%. It would run fine and then start acting...

I was thinkin' about a bathroom gun

This has been a fascinating thread and I have to ask...do bathroom gunners also keep ear protection handy? We all laugh at TV/movie unrealistic handling of firearms, and my fav is the gun fight in bus/train station fully tiled bathrooms because everyone should be screaming on the floor with...

    Semi-auto for wife

+1 for Devildog Just addressing your original question, the PK380 has a really easy slide to rack, surprisingly easy in fact. Rented one with a petite lady who tried many others and she loved it. Small ergo grip, light, easy to operate, etc...

Buckmark vs. 22/45 for big-handed lefties

My hands are relatively small, so can't really say, but a couple of pics might help. If you keep your thumbs parallel to the barrel, I can't see how the casing could hit you. Mine eject up and out, landing about 6 feet away with HVs. Not sure of the angle out, but definitely not horizontal...

    M&p 340

Thanks DA, I also like the hammer look, but I'm exploring the other options for ccw. The desire for SA is for the range only. I had a trigger job done on my 60-15 3" and love it, thus the ? on the 340. When I do carry the 60, it is not deep cover so no need to be concerned about snagging.

    M&p 340

340 or 360? Even mentioning a hammer may be a blaspheme in this thread so I'll apologize early (sorry). An M&P 3?0 is in my future, but I have some questions hopefully someone can help me with. 1. Can you get a trigger job on the 340 like you can on a hammer'ed gun? I don't know how...

    Got myself a Ruger P345!

My recently purchased P345 has the black logo also. All the new ones do. The red logos are older models - maybe last year, don't know exactly when they changed to the black one. I had the same question you did so I contacted Ruger CS and they said that the red logo is no longer offered...

    model 60 or sp101

I've fired both, own a 60 3". I'm not sure why I see the question regarding the 60's ability to take a steady diet of 357, it can take as many factory load 357's as you can feed it. Just because it weighs 3 or 4 oz less than a 101 doesn't mean it is under-built. I ran a box of 50 Buffalo Bore...

Help me find a carry gun before I go nuts, please :-)

LCP see thread I posted LCP w/ laser and holster. Not sure where you saw that the LCP is not reliable. I have put everything through mine with zero problems. I also would like something else for a war-zone carry, but for ultimate concealment the LCP is as good as it gets and looks so much...

How good are inespensive High Noon holsters?

LCP w/ Laser I bought the Mr. Softy for my PX4 SC, but ended up with the LCP for daily carry. Lo and behold, the MR. Softy fits the LCP with laser perfectly and makes it as close to invisible as I have seen with any of my rigs. It may look like it would be hard to grasp and draw, but it is...

Revolver night-time muzzle flash a real problem?

Speaking of flash - not at night but interesting... The first photo is Magtech 357, fmj, 158gr and the second is Buffalo Bore Heavy 357 jhc, 158gr. Both fired from S&W J-frame Model 60, 3".

SAO, one in the tube, hammer down?

Thanks, rbernie, that is the kind of information I was looking for. I didn't mean to start another debate on whether condition 2 is acceptable for a defense response. Its obvious that "1" is the best for quick response. But... ...I'm a wimp, so DA/SA (PX4 SC) is what I carry now because I...

SAO, one in the tube, hammer down?

I appreciate the responses, fellas, and I apologize because I should have worded the question differently. What I should have asked was "in view of the fact that condition 2 carry is considered unsafe, have any 1911 manuf's come out with a hammer block?" I'm not an engineer, but is it that...

SAO, one in the tube, hammer down?

Does anyone make a 1911 style SAO .45 compact, say similar to the EMP in style/size, that can be carried safely with the hammer down, one in the tube? It would then require that the hammer be pulled back in order to fire the first round. Thanks.
