    Akron, OH Area Shooting

I belong to canton McKinley, I don't shoot many comps...they have 100/200 yd rifle range, 25/50 yd pistol, and a utility range where you can shoot from point blank out to 75 yd. Indoor range is 50 ft I think...Matches take priority above anybody...but guys are good about letting you shoot the...

    My First Case Failure..

Case splits are a real pain in ass to pick up when you're reloading in bulk on a progressive. I inspect cases prior to tumbling, after tumbling, and then roll each loaded round in my fingers before they go into their reload box...and you know what? I still occasionally catch them:

    Darn, my media went bad!

Gamestalker, remind me never to eat any of your wife's cookies!! Seems like a recipe (no pun intended) for accidental lead poisoning.

    Most visually-appealing cartridges.

    7mm-08 gets my vote.

    Best semi-auto up to $1500?

I found my Les Baer Monolith in your price range...it flat out blows the doors off Colt Combat Elite, Kimber Custom, Springfield RO, STI Trojan, Sig and Para LDP. I've run it against them each and both me and their respective owners found that there really was no comparison to the LB. If you are...

    Springfield XDs Recall

Got my recalled XDS 9mm back and there is definitely a change. Trigger was fabulous before the "fix" and the gun was scary accurate. After returning, the trigger is heavier and that "CLACK" is definitely more noticeable. Before it was sent in, I had fired a two half boxes of 9mm ammo and with...

Lose one: Sig Sauer P220 or Springfield 1911?

Dude it depends on the trade...what are you being offered?

11 yo with a stun gun

Adult male...ARMED with a firearm...WITH a 90lb dog vs 11 year old BOY with a stun gun??? 3 pages of DEBATE on this topic? You would be CRUCIFIED... And to those who say...we'll at 11 I was a big imposing kid...get real. The average weight of an 11 year old kid ranges from 60-90 lbs...i think...

Apex trigger for M&P or just get a Glock?

I removed the screw...it was the tightest sight I've ever removed from a handgun and that includes two SP-01's, P-01, several Glocks, and a couple 1911's. Maybe its the custom sights that are installed on the MP40 Pro? Dunno, but it was tight as hell. Didn't mess with the front. I bought the...

Canton Ohio Police Officer Daniel Harless Final Decision

That settlement should have prohibited him from gun ownership. Issue a retired Police Officer ID??? THIS IS INSANE! He's going to be entitled to all the "Blue Label Glocks" that he wants.

Apex trigger for M&P or just get a Glock?

I was a Glock hater for years. I didn't like the idea of tupperware in firearms. I still question whether or not the plastic...er...polymer will hold up over time. Seems to be doing well so far, but when I consider old automotive plastic, its obvious that some "polymer" does not age well at all...

    Seating Primers

I use a Lee hand primer, the old round tray variety...works great, but I saw the Lee Ergo Prime at the lgs, and I couldn't resist. After a week of use, I went back to the old Lee priming tool. The old style drops primers straight onto the ram, the new one basically has a tiny elevator that moves...

    Rice for tumbling

I tried kitty litter and it caked a grey thick film on all my cases and the tumbler. I had to scrub the whole thing down with SOS pads. You can't beat walnut and corncob for vibratory cleaning.

    COAL Question???

A handloader can load to any spec they desire...that's the beauty of handloading. Exceeding SAAMI specs is inevitable when the envelope is pushed for utmost accuracy. Only you can decide YOUR level of comfort for pushing that envelope. For me, I find that most of my precision rifles perform best...
