How have/haven't you changed your behavior in response to the economic downturn

Dear All, I figured that I would ask this question on the board, as it seems germane to S&T. How, if at all, have you changed how you have acted in response to economic conditions. For example, I know that scrap metal has gotten more valuable, so alot of people have locked up their air...

Highest Quality Revolver for under $500

I think a used S&W Model 28 is the best value under $500 Mine cost me $315. It is a wonderful shooter, and a great gun to learn reloading on. I think they are underestimated, as most collectors buy up model 27's instead. The Highway Patrolman has the same guts, but lacks merely the cosmetic...

    More Harassment of DS ARMS

http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/chi-gun-protest_web_15jun15,0,1884762.story Dear All- This really gets me steamed. Hopefully all gunowners can help "vote with their wallets" and buy some quality DS products as a form of "counter protest." Just my 2 cents.

Somewhat pro-gun MSNBC article about ammo prices

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/24725781/ They actually described gun owners has hardworking people- and even neutrally discussed the rising costs of assault rifle ammo- accurate because I guess AKs and M16s and the semi-auto clones both use the same ammo.

    what pocket holster for j-frame

Thanks for all of your help! Ladies and Gentlemen, Thank you for all your advice. To respond to one post- Old Navy khakis are pretty solid and heavy material, so I think I will be ok with them for CCW. Thank You, Cato the Younger

Dear All- I am acquiring a J-frame for CHL, and I was wondering what the best pocket holster would be. I will be carrying in loose dress pants of the dockers variety, (old navy brand), and I am wondering what pocket holster to use. I am looking for something that is very good at...

Help on CHL laws in LA (New Orleans)

Dear All- I am planning a trip to New Orleans. I am a current TX CHL holder, and I have reviewed the LA statutes relating to thier CHL permit, which I understand will be applicable to me. I am left with several questions- 1. What are the "gun free zones" it discussed in the statute...

Recommendations for young person's one handgun for the next three years.

I vote for the mdl 28 Highway Patrolman I have one, albeit with the 6" barrel, and I think that it is wonderful. I also have a 2.5" mdl 66, which is still shootable, and probably much easier to conceal. Good Luck in your quest for a first pistol!

    Education level

JD Candidate- 2nd year law student However- I still feel that the best part of my education has been actually working (both in a restaurant and as a law office clerk) because it has taught me how to interact with people, as well as how the actual practice (as opposed to academic theory) of law...

    Mauser Help?

I believe that it does cock on closing... Dear All- Like my brother's Lee-Enfield, I believe that this Mauser "cocks on closing" (it takes a significant amount of force to close it), and I believe I hear it cocking, so therefore it is a model 93 or 95. It will be ok to shoot with plain...

    Mauser Help?

Dear All- I have the opportunity to buy a sporterized and scoped Mauser in 7x57 Mauser. It does have the familiar disassembly of the Turkish Mausers and German 98Ks that I have shot, however, it also has a stepped barrel on it. I am wondering if there were any model 1898 mausers...

    The Best Kept Secret is...

This is advice from my father Ladies and Gentlemen- I am a youth, however, I have learned one phrase rings true, in all my trips to the range- "beware the man with one gun." I have been outshot innumerable times by retired deputies, DPS, police, vets with their model 10s, 19s, 27s, at...

Sako 85 vs. Ruger M77 MK II in 30-06?

Dear All- I have been saving for a long time, and I now think it is time to get a nice deer rifle. I already have a Marlin 30-30 for close range, but I would like a scoped bolt-action rifle for longer range. I am young (23) so whatever I buy will last me for another 50 years of...
