Help! 240 gr .45 acp, should be 230 gr

Yes, that would be it. I don't spray mine, I use my old vibratory tumbler. I throw about 100 bullets in it, then spoon the powder coat over it. Run it for about 10 minutes, check to see if it needs more. If not, I place the bullets base down on a small baking tray and bake in a small...

Help! 240 gr .45 acp, should be 230 gr

Excellent advice guys. I don't know why, but 10 gr sounded much more dire than 4% does... I loaded 100 up last night, 50 at 4.2, 20 at 4.4, 20 at 4.6, and 10 at 4.8. I'm new, so I don't need to load up to the limit, I'll be satisfied with whatever will run in my 1911s. These are the...

Help! 240 gr .45 acp, should be 230 gr

Hey guys, my new Lee TL452-230 6 cavity mold is throwing 240 grain bullets, according to my electronic reloading scale. Tomorrow I’m going to drop one in my balance beam scale, but if they really are 240 gr, can I shoot those in my .45 ACP? Here’s the load data from Hogdgon for HP38 for a...

    Smith model 442 no lock

In my opinion, the LCR has a better trigger, and a better grip, and slightly better sights, making it much easier to shoot accurately.

Now that's a good idea. Are you fast like that?

    Why didn't I just buy a Taurus?

I'd like one of those in 9mm. I really wish they made it with a cylinder that is sized for 9mm instead of .38 spc. I know it would look weird, but man would it be concealable. Is there any way to use any type of speedloader for those?

    Why didn't I just buy a Taurus?

Just got my Alaskan back in the mail from Ruger. They fixed the cylinder release problem, and replaced the ejector, but didn't fit the pawl surfaces of the ratchet to the hand or vice versa. So now there's binding at the end of the trigger pull. Time to go back to Ruger. I'm raging so hard...

    Why didn't I just buy a Taurus?

Or a Charter Arms or a Rossi for that matter? I've purchased 4 revolvers in the past year, and ALL of them have had problems. A 642 that had a stack in the trigger that caused it to break like a Glock trigger, only heavier, at the end of the trigger pull. A 686 that had stacking in the middle...

    Why I wet tumble

Today. 3 hours in water and a squirt of dishsoap while we took the kids to the park. Pour out, fill with clean water and a bit of Lemishine, 30 more minutes, rinse, dry. Probably longer than necessary. These were done last night with no Lemishine.

    Help with .44spc/magnum loads

Could I use W231 for heavier bullets like this? I'm about to order a NOE mold for a 240 gr bullet, and I want to load it as a really light .44 mag as well. My Lyman manual doesn't use 231 for anything over 210 gr, cast or jacketed in Magnum. It does have a max load of 6.9 gr, 1,330 CUP for a...

    Help with .44spc/magnum loads

I cast, but haven't picked up a decent .44 mold yet. I'm looking at a NOE with HP pins. I'm loading these GDs for SD/SHTF.

    Help with .44spc/magnum loads

Thanks guys. Good info. I check each case on the loading block with a flashlight. If I double charge one, I'll catch it.
