Remove idiot scratch from satin stainless 1911.

I fully agree with you! Too many folks want to appear cool by making too much about a little "idiot scratch". Good Lord, get over it, a scratch is just that, a scratch. If you were talking about a scratch on your $3,200 Ed Brown or some custom 1911, I might understand a little complaining...

    Colt Python: why so valuable?

AGREE! The Python really can't be compared to any other factory revolver because they are smooth, accurate and great looking! Even the overly expensive Korth look alike revolver can't unseat a Python as a fantastic handgun. IMHO, the best all around handgun ever!

Winchester 94AE Legacy Date Of Mfg?

Thanks Dryhumor, I didn't know that about the difference in safeties. Mine is a tang safety, so it must be around 2006 or newer. Eastbank, yes, I feel we are pretty lucky to have found them. While I haven't shot mine yet, I do love the dark walnut and the checkering is excellent and sharp...

Winchester 94AE Legacy Date Of Mfg?

I just bought a 24" barrel Legacy in .44 Mag. Great looking rifle in 98% condition. It is fairly new, but I can't find the date it was made by using the serial number because it seems to be too new for the Winchester find your DOM webpage. The SN is 6500***. Anyone have any information they...

Required to wear cap at gun range.

Is that one of those stupid ranges that also don't allow reloads, even in your own weapon? We have one here on the West side in Fort Worth and I don't go there because of the overly restrictive rules even restricting people to closed toe shoes. Their club, their rules, my choice where I spend...

    Best AR Lower?

I bought a Rock River after checking out all of the others, I am very satisfied that I got one of the better lowers. No problems with it in any way.

    223 Effectiveness in Combat

The m16/ar15 is a lot better of a weapon if chambered in 7.62x39 upper. Increased stopping power at decent ranges. Why can't NATO admit that round is superior to the dinky varmit round we now have to use in combat.

    Backpacking gun?

Either a snub S&W 66 .357mag or snub 629 .44mag carried in a shoulder rig such as the Galco Jackass would be reliable, sturdy, easy to carry and yet provide decent firepower.

Why has LE drifted away from 9MM?

Pretty poor stopping power, even with hollow points. Always has been that way, always will be. That's the reason why they developed the high capacity "spray & pray wondernines" a long time ago, lots of bullet hits will stop them.

    Mid Range 357 loads

All of these powders will give a decent load. The best load for you may be with Bullseye powder. You did specify a clean powder. I believe it burns cleaner than the others, can give some very accurate consistancy, and does not take very much powder to provide a good midrange load. For full...

How Many are Now Carrying a Cane?

Never have carried one with SD in mind. May do it sometime in the future.

    No Weapons Allowed

If the gun is concealed without a "print" through the clothes, I would go on in. Been there, done that.

    Define Carbine??

IMHO, the barrel length is a good indicater to use. If the barrel length is 16" or below, I would call it a carbine, regardless of the stock or handguard length. Ideal length for carry in a vehicle while still retaining power above a submachine gun is a barrel length of 16" , making it a...

Python vs. Model 27-2 for shooting

Still have two Pythons left in my safe, and I still enjoy shooting them both. I do like the S&W 27, but the Python is and always will be "King" of the revolvers. Tighter cylinder lockup when the trigger is pulled. For both guns... they are sturdy, parts are available if needed, accurate and...

would you buy a 9mm revolver?

No, I would prefer a different caliber for defense purposes in a revolver. Nothing smaller than a .38 Spl. 9 mm has a lousy stopping reputation, especially with hardball.
