where can i find a stag lower reciever for a good price?

Southern Michigan Arms has Stag A2 lowers for $259. Rainier Arms also has complete Stag lowers. Give them a call and ask if you can get an A2 stock instead of the 6-position stock. They can probably set you up for about the same price. Both companies have excellent customer service.

Most durable and dependable all steel 9mm?

Browning Hi-Power Sig 226 CZ-75 Beretta 92 (Frame is aluminum) I highlight the Hi-Power because it is a bit slimmer than the others, making it easier to conceal.

CCW Holders: How much training have you had?

I've been carrying since 2002, but didn't get any formal training until last year. in July I attended a 5-day handgun course at the Firearms Academy of Seattle. A month later I did their defensive shotgun course, and this past March the handgun retention seminar. I also try to hit the range...

    Best AR/Black Rifle under $1,000?

I'd go with a Stag. The Model 2 is pretty good for a sub-$1k rifle. You can get one HERE for $730 (doesn't come with a magazine though). Figure in $20-$40 transfer fee at your local FFL and $30 for a couple magazines for a total of $800ish. You'll have plenty of cash left over for ammo!

AR 15 Scope Ring Height Question

What you guys are talking about is called "co-witnessing." Absolute co-witness is when the red dot and the iron sights line up. Some people like it, some don't. If you want your sight mounted low, but don't want the irons in the way, invest in a set of nice folding sights. When you see...

    Double Tap Ammo

It's really good stuff. A bit hot, but not too bad.

    Remington 870 forend suggestions

I like the Hogue forend. The extra grippiness is a plus.

    SIG 245s any good??

My brother has one and I've shot it a few times. It shoots pretty well, but the shortened grip is a little wonky.

Shotgun Home SD: 00 or Number 4 Buckshot

This load would be awesome. I tried some Remington #1 buck out of my 18" 870 this weekend and was mildly surprised I was able to get all the shot on a B27 silhouette at 20 yards. Not bad, but I wouldn't want to use it past 15 yards or so. Premium 00 loads definitely have an advantage.

    I Need A Backpack/Slingpack

I would recommend the Jumbo. You can easily fit five 50-round boxes of ammo in the main compartment and eye protection in the eyeglass case on top of the main flap. A pistol would go in the CCW pouch. I don't see a good way to lock it though.

Anyone know anything about Remmy UMC 9mm ammo?

It's pretty good range ammo. It's loaded fairly consistently, if a bit on the light side.

    Remington Model 870 Tac-2

Yes. That forend will allow a 6-shot sidesaddle.

A tough one...1911 Vs. Hi-Power..which is overall the "best" in your opinion??

I have both and love both, but the Hi-Power fits me a bit better. Smaller, easier to carry. Perfect grip.

    Remington Model 870 Tac-2

$549 is pretty reasonable for that setup. You might be able to save a few bucks buying the Knoxx stock separately and installing it yourself. It's a great setup. The stock soaks up recoil really well.

Who makes the best out of the box trigger in a semi auto?

Sig. I've tried a few different models (228, 226, 229, 239, SigPro), and all the triggers have been as smooth as butter. Excellent single action pulls. The double action pulls are great too.
