    Quit crying already

Here's a few I'm partial to: http://www.wmsa.net http://www.missourisportshooting.org/ http://www.gclastl.org/ http://www.appleseedinfo.org http://www.missouricarry.com While I don't believe the President Elect has the votes to start taking guns out of people's safes... he does have the votes...

I broke my kid and ruined his first hunting season

I can relate... My daughter's wrist snapped while we were playing around. I had no idea I was putting enough pressure on it to hurt her... she was laughing and playing right up until we both heard the snap. She was 14 at the time, I felt like a real heel. She got over it, I'm sure your boy...

    J B Weld

I'd take that statement as gospel, applied to Duct Tape... but metal impregnated epoxy? J B Weld is good stuff. If you removed epoxy and plastic from a modern airplane, you wouldn't have much left! I can't say I've ever used J B Weld on a firearm, but if I had need for it, I wouldn't hesitate...

    Hay bales a suitable backstop?

I was at a shoot last summer where we used a round bale as a target holder. There was a dirt berm behind it, the bale was already there, and was a convenient place to hang targets. We fired many different calibers, but all pistols, no rifles. By the end of the day, the entire center of the...

Which Tech Sight for 10/22 Appleseed?

A 10/22 is a great tool for Appleseed, allows you to improve your skills without spending hundreds of dollars in ammo. You're unlikely to try long range shooting with a .22lr, and even more unlikely to hit anything if you do :) The range adjustment on the tech sights isn't really necessary...

Kansas, Missouri and Iowa Deer Hunting

Missouri's non-resident deer permit is $175. (http://mdc.mo.gov/regs/permits.htm) Hunting on public land is available, but out of state hunters might have a hard time scouting a good location. I'm sure the other states you mentioned have a non-res permit system, as well. The big bucks...

Why do sniper, varmint, or precision rifles have to be big and heavy?

Very few shooters are capable of pushing the limits of their rifles, regardless of the rifle's capabilities. From a bench mounted mechanical rest with a heavy rifle, a light trigger, and a good scope, a brand new shooter can produce a decent group out to 100 yards or so. In the field, or at...

Gun Rights: How do I win this argument...

The 2nd amendment is not about hunting... unless you happen to be hunting politicians... The AR platform has been in service for over 50 years... for a reason. The AR platform is the most popular civilian rifle on the market... for a reason. It's simple to operate, lightweight, easy to shoot...

I won't be doing that again

How were you holding that thing? Pistol style... both hands on the grip, elbows bent, peering carefully over the tube to line up the bead? Bad juju. Pistol grip only shotguns are range toys. Put a stock on it (if you can, legally... I thought there was some rule preventing this...)

    .22 for appleseed

Now _that_ is a problem you want resolved. Spending your valuable time on the line screwing around with a weapon that won't feed is not a good thing.

    HK 91 Field strip

I guess I'm the only one who found it effortless. 2 pins, stock and trigger group basically fall away, pull the bolt and carrier, put them back the same way. Easy as pie. Yeah, if you push the bolt back so that the roller bearings lock out, the bolt won't go back in. Just rotate the bolt...

    .22 for appleseed

First... just go. The rifle you use is much less important than people think it is. If there is one bit of gear that is more important than any other, it's a good web sling, other than that, what you shoot really doesn't matter that much. The point is to learn the techniques, not to score...

Ever wake up to a punch in the head?

As 'active' as I am in my sleep, a gun under the pillow seems a real bad idea. In my carry holster, in the nightstand drawer, seems perfectly adequate to me, as well. My wife will occasionally stick an elbow or knee in my back, but I've never had her hit me. I suspect the elbow or knee comes...

    Targeting my CZ.22 RIMFIRE RIFLE

Dead on at 25 and 50, 1" low at 75, 3" low at 100... Sounds pretty much ideal to me! That's a pretty straight curve for a .22, especially a subsonic. Does that rifle have a range adjustable rear? I'd try to find out just how many clicks, or notches, or whatever adjustment it has, it...
