    Problems Woodmaster 742

We just got a Remington Woodmaster 742 30-06. Numbers on the receiver side is R-L, I believe it was made in Nov. of 1964. It's in great shape ,my neighbor told me her husband only used it a few times. It hasn't been shot in years..so I took it all apart and cleaned it from one end to the...

We have been looking to buy a new rifle in 7mm08. Looked at so many can't make up my mind. I would like a American made rifle. I like the Kimber but it goes a little past my budget. Right now it's between a Winchester and a Remington. I like wood on a rifle, I own composite stocks ,works...

    Good News...Cabelas coming to Delaware

The Cabela's in Grand Rapids, Mich will open this spring. It's the smaller size store but who cares. Drove by it today and they have the walls up and half the roof. I can spend half the day walking around their store in Dundee Mich.

reduce recoil for 270 Thanks for all the help. I stopped at a local gunshop here in town and he think there's a solution to my problem. He wants to install a Bell and Carlson stock on my Ruger. He said that this has helped other shooters and he will drill and fill the stock with some lead...

    reduce recoil of 270

First, I have had several shoulder surgeries and was told not to have too much recoil on my shoulder. I have a 270 Ruger in a bolt action. I have tried the lead sled but it doesn't work for me. I spend most of the day talking to some gun dealers around town today and got some very different...

    Reasonably priced over-under

I'm sorry Mcgunner didn't believe me. Thank you drsfmd , for letting him know that this indeed did happen. The next time I post anything I'll try and be more precise . The person who Stoeger came apart, was due to the tab on the front end. I called him today and he confirmed it. He now owns a...

    Shotgun for HD/fun/general shooting

I agree with TURTLEPHISH, THE Remington 870 WINGMASTER is hard to beat. The sound of that slide action can be heard a mile away, especially in your house. I have two one in 12 ga and 20 ga. They have never given me any trouble . Good luck

    Reasonably priced over-under

During our winter league skeet shoot, we saw a shooter who had a Stoeger fall apart in his hands. The look on his face was priceless. The barrel fell off from the receiver. The puller told him , you get what you pay for. We have seen some good guns have problems but never fall apart. There is a...
