Well I bought it so I guess I will find out if it will shoot or not. Thanks for all the info guys. I'm thinking a trigger swap and a new stock in the future. This is my first 30-06. I'll run a box of factory ammo through it and start on some handloads.
It doesn't have the accutrigger. I read a couple reviews online about the accutrigger. From what I understand if you dont pull the trigger just right it will not fire. Some kind of saftey mechanism built into the trigger for drop purposes I'm sure.
I can get this rifle local for $299.99 plus tax. It is new. It doesn't say what model it is besides axis 30-06. Does anybody have on or have more info about it ? Is this a good deal
Seems like the tumblers are always back ordered on STM. I bought the media and the separator from them but got my Model B high speed tumbler from my local Cabelas. I had spied it a few weeks earlier on the shelf. Luckily they still had it.
Why I ask is.... I have 25 rounds that have been fire formed to my chamber now. I neck sized them only this time around. Will that change headspace
(which I think it does ) and if so how will that affect distance of bullet jump ? I got my COAL to where bullets is .020 of lands full length...
I was using bullet compartor which adds 1.006" and measures off ogive Guess I should have mentioned that. You have a good eye. Measuring off the tip they are 3.210..
First off everything went smooth. My first time shooting rifle handloads.
Gun is a Howa 1500 270 bolt.
Here are the results and have a couple questions

I got my Howa 1500 stainless in .270 out today and fired my first rifle handloads with it. I only gave 350 for the rifle. I'm pretty happy with it. I was wondering if a trigger job would help some, as someone mentioned in an earlier post.
100 yds
1.35" group.
5 group shot.
