What he said. I still think the P7M8 is the best carry gun ever made but it is painfull to shoot a lot. You can get second degree burns from the frame as it heats up.
I still love mine and don't intend to sell it (or its 12 magazines :neener: ) but I just bought a XD40 to shoot. I...
It's nice to see someone else say that. For me the question "What would you bring to a gunfight?" always produced a cognitinve dissonance. Why the heck would anyone go to a gunfight? When I was a cop my answer was generally "The SWAT team?" but now that I don't have to go I don't plan on...
One is selling over there now.
Tacticals are harder to come by than the other lengths. I looked for a while then got a service model.
You might want to think about a 40. You can put a 9mm barrel in a XD40 but you can't put a 40 barrel in a XD9. There have been some reports of the XD9...
That is the only advice you should take.
Rent them all and see what you like. Remember that guns feel different when you are shooting then when you are just handling them. You need to feel the recoil. Unless you can shoot the exact weapon you will buy you shouldn't get too caught up in the...
I shoot buck because I have to. I like to shoot after work and there are no trap ranges near me open then. Only an indoor range where they don't allow slugs because of the backdrop and don't allow birdshot because they have had splashback problems. Steel won't work either. Gotta be buck on...
A couple layers or cardboard behind the target will protect it from most wads. At least that is what I have found.
With one pellet I would think that it would be easier to see how you are shooting.
If I see buck for less than $.50 a round I buy it. I would think a person could reload for...
Why would accuracy be less than a regular round? I would think it would be better since there would be less chance of shot deformation if the ball weren't bouncing up against other rounds.
I was thinking wads rather than grex since it would center the ball and there would be less mess for...
Hi all,
Please don't mock me too much for what I expect is a dumb idea.
The indoor range where I like to shoot only allows lead buckshot. This presents two problems. As goon recently pointed out buck is expensive and after two or three shots of 12 guage center mass is pretty much gone...
My advice is to shoot them and see what you think. Guns feel different under recoil than when you are just fondling them.
I am also looking for a new pistol. I have a HK P7M8 which is, IMHO, an excellent carry gun but it gets very hot when you are shooting it fast. I like to shoot and I...
I was told the P7. Not just because it is all steel but because the gas system uses the extra pressure to buffer the slide.
Down at FLETC they used to shoot submachine gun ammo in them all the time. Sreiously hot stuff. This was 1994. I'm not sure we were using the term +P+ back then.

Thanks. With the interrupter engaging the lifter there is a definite “bump” in the action. I kinda like the bump. It is almost like a detent or a clicky keyboard. It makes the action feel surer. But it is wearing a groove in the lifter.
Thanks for the reminder about grinding the cheaper...
Saturday I went to a gun show and bought every 12 GA buck I could find then dropped by the local range patterned them.
The range guy laughed and said "You'll end up with Federal Tactical. That's all I use in my gun."
At 10 yards I got patterns from six to 12 inches from the others. The...
Binding Mossberg 500?
Howdy,
I have a Mossberg 500 and I am trying to clean up the action a little.
The stud on the cartridge interupter passes through the body and scrapes against elevator. Is that by design? I would like to grind the back side off the stud to remove that bump in the...
