Thanks all for you responses!
I definitely didn't think it through. That's why it's good to bounce this stuff off the forum!
I would have wasted my money and gotten more frustration than enjoyment out of the FFL...
Glad I had someone to bounce this off of...
:)
I got an email from Survival Life about this book (with bonuses) authored by a "Jason Hanson".
Does anyone know if this is legit?
His site is: http://gunassociation.org/cb/ff/
or...
Where did you get the rubber grips with wood inserts? Are they like the grips that come with the Ruger SP101 models?
I wanted another revolver (just because) and was looking at Rugers - SP101 or GP100 in .357 Mag, or a Redhawk in 45 colt or 44 Mag.
I like the looks of the SP101 - have the .22...
Thanks for the quick (and helpful) response - to all!!
As for the OAL it may be too long as I am using the setting in the data manual - may say "max" - have to recheck. I am setting exactly to that length.
For the 9mm that may be the case - used the same OAL for both TC and RN and the TC...
I have only been reloading for a couple years, and until recently have reloaded for 45-70, 45 Colt, and 454 Casull. Because of the ammo shortage, I decided to give it a whirl with my 9mm and 40 S&W.
I use good hard-cast bullets (Mastercast and Penn Bullets) and range brass or spent factory...
I would recommend you speak to Savage about that one. I haven't had that issue with either of my Stevens shotguns (350 and 320) - both which have always reliably fired. I never tried pulling back on the forearm - I held with a neutral force - basically resting the forearm in my left hand for...
This is a long overdue followup to my issue:
I did resolve the issue after cycling through three of these guns - which, BTW, all did the same.
Savage support was excellent in resolving it. Turns out, there is a technique for firing these assault-type shotguns that I was unaware of. They told...
Newbee question
Where can I find good load data for hard cast bullet loading? The bullets range from 16 to 24 BRN. I have searched a lot online - and have written to the bullet companies. Either they don't have data, or they haven't responded.
Please...
I have two old .22 rifles that I acquired from neighbors as a kid in the '60's. I would like some info on identifying any manufacturing info and possibly exploded drawings on these. Also how to determine when they were manufactured. Both are bolt action.
All I have to go on is what is stamped...
Thank you everyone for your input. I thought that was the case but you just never know - learn something new every day!
My next pistol will probably be a .357 Mag revolver - possibly the Ruger SP101 in .357 cal. I have the new SP 101 in .22 LR and like it a lot! The only downside is the...
Crud ring - damaging - permanent?
Is this the only thing that happens? Does it produce extra wear and tear on the revolver cylinder beyond normal wear (using longer rounds)?
Wouldn't regular cleaning after shooting prevent this build-up, or does this require special attention and more...
Firing 45 colt in 454 Casull bad?
I have a Taurus Raging Bull in .454 Casull. Taurus says that it will safely fire the .45 Colt (or LC).
When I picked it up at the gun store, there was some discussion from some patrons that it was never a good idea to fire a shorter round in a gun. Said the...
My gun club is raffling off a Rossi Ranch Hand in .45 Colt caliber. I thought this was a .45 Long Colt for which I have brass and dies (for my Raging Bull .454 Casull).
I decided to check at the Rossi site for clarification, and discovered they have models for the Ranch Hand in 45 LC (model...
