Your system for putting a threat down.

Robmoore "I wonder if I'm related to this Roy person. Every eligible person should be able to buy a Corvette, as long as they wait 7 days, register it with the government, and pay the $200 tax stamp." lmaorof... uh, whoops... But but but... only traffic cops need corvettes! Mad Chemist...

    Arisaka Type 99 Value?

My question would be, how durable are milsurps without chrome lined barrels? I haven't inspected the bore in a while, can't remember if it is chromed. Not here presently either, it is in a VERY safe place. Safe from all sorts of libs and other gun grabbers. :)

LOL, sorry bout the corvette sig. I think I made it better. I actually expect the police to perform poorly, they qualify once or twice a year most areas. It is no wonder police kill more people accidentally per year than citizens defending themselves.

Does anyone NOT use expensive hollowpoint ammo in their defensive handguns?

I've heard too much about JHPs failing to expand simply because clothing will fill the cavity. I've also had feed failures from JHP's deforming even in web gear. No pistol can compensate for deformed JHPs. Soft points when possible, less chance of deforming and still has enough expansion...

    Arisaka Type 99 Value?

Unfortunately, the specifig origins of the rifle is information my grandfather took to the grave. I'm a paranoid one about damaging heirloom firearms, don't know why.

    Question for parents

Breech lock in, mags nearby but not next. Key in an easy to reach spot, all above eye level of an adult. A little much, but I've got kids and the gestapo runs the local schools! I plan to get a biometric safe soon, they aren't that expensive and will allow for immediate access to my wife and...

The Mozambique Drill. Even two 9mm rounds to the chest will phase an adversary initially (that isn't on drugs, even a .45ACP won't help then.), allowing the last tap to the head. Drill this to perfection, it could take a lot of repetition to get right. Once you got it, you only need regular...

    Would you turn them in?

I think different things would happen based on different scenarios. If an outright ban followed by siezure - forget it, that would be political suicide. Another AWB with another grandfather clause would be different, 1994 proved this. It comes down to siezure of existing firearms, just...

    Arisaka Type 99 Value?

I'm tempted to fire the weapon, that is for sure. However with the mum intact I can't bring myself to fire such a piece of history. I mean, c'mon! A battlefield capture! I may purchase one with the mum ground off, I would sleep better at night knowing I fired a worthless gun with no heirloom...

    Arisaka Type 99 Value?

I have a WWII era Arisaka Type 99, it is a battlefield capture with the mum still intact. It has not been fired since it's capture. Based on what I've found, it is a high quality, early war production. It's condition is typical of a capture rifle, some minor dings and dents. How much is...

    Hunting Camo Help...

I tend not to worry about camo for hunting, it is either a factor of sitting perfectly still or breaking your silhouette for slow (really slow) movement. My state requires blaze orange for the Whitetail rifle season, I haven't noticed a difference during bow season when camo is allowed. I...

    Need help choosing 1st 9mm

For SHTF scenarios where I would need to reload with lead, I would use a revolver! Lead deforms easily (as i'm sure you all are aware), causing rounds to hang on feed ramps. They just aren't field worthy in an auto pistol. I've had JHPs do similar things in both my 92FS and USP. You...

    One argument I Couldn't Beat

I had to come out of the shadows and register after seeing this question. At least in my state, (Wisconsin) we have what is known as the "Greater Danger Theory". Basically, if that individual is an active threat (and that definition is met by the criteria the original post offered) then...
