    "Putting down the man gun"

I just went today to buy an EDC for CCW carry and it was tough picking: Gun size VS caliber VS capacity VS gun platform. Ive always been a .45 and a 1911 platform guy, But that dont define me. I passed up a 3" Kimber today due to it high issue rate and instead got an XDs .45 instead at $519 VS...

SE USA is where I'm headed after family dispute. Ohio CCW Reciprocity needed.

Here is a link to the states i can carry in. http://www.buckeyefirearms.org/ohio-ccw-reciprocity-map Im hoping this is the right section as i couldnt find anything else close that would encompass this discussion. Ill try and keep it short but detailed, But my life has been turned upside...

how many of you are still kicking your self over a gun you wish you hadnt sold?

Ive had two guns i regret ever selling. 1. Was a Mossberg 12 gauge bullpup about 20 years ago which are almost impossible to find these days and if you do its price is 3x-4x what i paid back then. 2. This happened about 2 years ago when i was attempting to keep all my handguns as usefull ccw...

    Titanium Weapons

Im no metal expert so take what i say for what it is. Im used to dealing with Ti being used in knifes. While there are a very few rare knives that are all 100% Ti, They wont take a sharp edge or hold one long both. Many times the maker if he really wants that knife to cut will fit a small...

How reliable, well made, are Kel-Tec guns really?

Has there been a release date set for the KSG? I must own that gun, Since i so stupidly as a 22 year old idiot I sold my Mossberg 12 gauge bullpup almost 20 years ago. It took shotgun shooting to a new fun level, I haven't tried the Siaga auto's but id say its as fun as those are.

You Know You Are A Gun Enthusiast If......

I was ready to type the same exact story and saw your post and was like "DARN!" But yes i was really disappointed also, Imagine a whole store just wall too wall ammo! Oh the hours i could waste there. Talk about false advertisement!

    Midways Pricing

Ive run into this many times and i hate to say this but Ebay has saved me money a few times when shipping small parts would have stupid shipping prices at the larger gun supply stores.

    Whats your home defense weapon?

My main HD gun is next to my bed and is a 12 gauge Mossberg 500SPX with all the tactical stuff from the factory, I got it so cheap i couldn't pass it up when i went in to buy a plain 500. I also use the PDX1 2 3/4" slugs with 3 00 buck pellets or commonly known as "Buck and Ball". Its a...

SA Range Officer back from Custom Shop

Oh please wise one, Teach me thy things you have mastered and i am so foolish about? In a forum like this one in this section i think you will find almost everyone who does a 1911 trigger job is slightly different in how they do it whether its new parts or polishing or angles being altered...

Thoughts on switching from Compact Carry to Micro Carry?

The only way id make that change is you swapped the .380 out for a micro 9mm. Im a 100% 1911 ccw guy, But ive had times i didnt have time to holster up one and i bought a Kahr MK9 just for this exact reason. It may be no .45, But it is alot more effective than a .380 and only slightly larger...

1911 Slide closing on empty chamber

Greg528iT- I know where most of your questions come from in another thread, And all i can say is most of what i said is stuff ive learned from reading 1911Tuners posts and my own experiences. His experience is about the size of the Earth and mine is about the size of a baseball in comparison...

SA Range Officer back from Custom Shop

As a matter of fact, NO i don't think its ok for them to send a gun that does that. "That" being defined as "Dropping the slide correctly on a snap cap for safety or a live round pointed safely away". You gotta realize Its pretty darn tricky and many times takes many tries to get a 3.5#...

SA Range Officer back from Custom Shop

One thing ive learned in doing 1911 trigger jobs even if im a bedroom gun tinkerer. You don't test for hammer follow with an empty gun, Always use snap caps and then lock the slide back and release it with the slide release lever. The round acts as a buffer and slows the slide down and the...

Aren't guns a better hobby investment than most others?

Dont ever take a Taurus 1911 and strip it down to the frame/slide/barrel and replace everything with all high end part and then hand fit them. Dont stop there and put a carry bevel/melt job and a good refinishing job and then expect to get anywhere close to the $1700 i invested in the gun...

    147 Grain 9MM

I love and carry the HST 147gr +P in my Kahr MK9 and the 50 round box is great for costs and reliability testing. Recoil was a non issue and the round hits like a brick. http://www.ammunitiontogo.com/product_info.php/cPath/23_61_119/products_id/2311
