    HARD RECOIL

Factory 155 grain 40's have a nasty recoil. They were blamed for the demise of many Glock 22 frame rails. Whether it was really the fault of the 155s or not, Glock did redesign and replace many Glock M22/35 frames. If memory serves me well, the 40 caliber was designed around the 180 bullet.

    1911 9mm recoil spring

I prefer 10 pound recoil springs in my 5 inch 9mm 1911s. I have had many 9mm 1911s in the past and currently have STIs and Springfields.

Thoughts on Para Ordnance Elite LS

Some folks seem happy with their Para handguns and I am glad they are. That said, I have had many Paras in the past and do not plan on getting another one. When looking for a 10mm, I had a Kimber for a while and currently own a Dan Wesson Razorback. I love the Razorback.

Anybody kill a deer with Remington Bronze Points...???...

I shot a couple of mule deer with Bronze Points back in the mid 70s. I don't recall anything magical about them.

    Ruger vs. Para

I have not had a Ruger 1911, but I have had numerous Paras. I am a slow learner, but I will never spend money on a Para again.

Springfield Loaded - Ambidextrous safety question

Remember that no 1911 thumb safety is not a "drop in" part. At a minimum, the safety will have to be fitted to properly block sear movement.

Para and Remington are having the sale again

Or are these guns are not selling because of all the poor reviews. Many dissatisfied Para customers complaining of poor quality, misfitted parts and lack of customer service. I stopped shooting Paras a few years ago and hoped the move to the states may improve things. Still waiting.....just not...

    My Dan Wesson PM7 broke

Forget the hammer.....why were you dry firing in bed?:) Seriously, Ed Brown did have a bad batch of hammers about 2008ish. Dan Wesson was unlucky enough install them on some of their 1911s. Yours is not the first one to break and won't be the last one. Dan Wesson replaced some broken hammers a...

    Lee Loadmaster feedback

I got so tired of "fixing" and replacing the plastic parts.....I just boxed mine up and sent it back to Lee with a letter explaining why I was returning it. I did not ask for anything in return. Lee contacted me and since I did not buy it directly from Lee, they offered me the purchase price in...

Did you switch from Glock to M&P?

Yes....I am currently officially "Glockless". I have had many Glocks over the years (35s, 22s, 23s, 19s, 17s and 34s). I have shot thousands and thousands of rounds through 34s and 35s in USPSA matches. Nothing wrong with Glocks. One of my sons purchased a M&P Pro 5 inch 9mm and allowed...

    Pistol Safety Golden Rules

I did not not write these rules, but have lived by them for longer than I care to remember. My remembrance of Jeff Cooper's four general Firearms Safety rules: 1. All guns are always loaded (treat all guns as if they are loaded regardless whether there is any ammunition present) 2. Never...

Whats your longest shot made with a Pistol

I have made many shots > 800 yards. I missed the target I was shooting at and I am confident the rounds hit something down range.

    Pick only 3 pistols

    1) Dan Wesson CCO 2) Dan Wesson Valor 3) Glock 19

How accurate is your 'fired rounds' count?

I just shoot and leave the counting to others.
