    What would you use?

Mainly, just treat it like any other brass. In some calibers it can be a little harder to re-size, but in 38 spl you shouldn't notice a difference. (At least I don't). The nickle plating is harder than regular brass, so clean them before sizing to avoid scratching dies, especially if you...

Show us a picture of your reloading bench

Wow Desmo. That is one stout looking bench. Nice Duck, too.

    Need a reloading list rundown

Just so I didn't confuse the OP, the press I'm referring to is the Lee Hand Press: It takes regular rifle and pistol dies. I think rcmodel is talking about the Lee Loader, which as far as I know they do not make, or no longer make, for 7.62X39 anyway.

A visit from the Midway primer fairy

$34 a box. That's not too bad. Same price my local Mom and Pop are selling them for off the shelf. Midway had Rem LR in stock last week too, but they didn't last long. At least something is starting to trickle in. My two local stores have never been out.

    Need a reloading list rundown

Get the Lee Hand Press and a set of dies for each caliber you want to reload. If you buy Lee dies, you will get a shell holder for each caliber with the dies. If you buy another brand, you will need to buy a shell holder for each separately. I have had a Lee Hand Press for years and still use...

Thank God for my Dillon 550B

Divemedic, if you don't want to reload, that's fine and good. It's not for everyone. However, your pricing of reloading components is a fair bit off the mark. You have; "Cost for 10,000 rounds: Bullets, 45 230gr FMJ $1,400 Brass, 1000 pieces: $200 Primers: 10,000 pieces $300 Powder...

how many times can you reload?

It depends a lot on the cartridge, whether for rifle or pistol, and your reloading habits. In general; If you load hot all the time, brass will not last as long. If you full length resize all the time (for rifle), case life will usually be limited by how long the case head stays attached to...

    Anybody use Lee Classic Loader???

No, or maybe. It depends a lot on the bullet shape. Two bullets of the same weight can be different lengths because of the shape of the nose of the bullet. How much of the bullet, for a given weight, is inside the case has much to do with case pressure. Seating a long bullet too deep puts...

    Sometimes I hate FedEx

Boy, does this ever strike a chord. I have had some pretty crummy experiences with Fedex. I have no doubt they are the most unreliable of any delivery service. I run a small repair business from my home shop, and all my customers have to ship their items to my place via the P.O., UPS, or...

Lee Classic Turret and older 3 hole Turrets?

Rusty, the Pro 1000 does have the same turret die plate as the 3 hole turret press. They are interchangeable. You can take a die turret out of the Pro 1000 and put it right into the 3 hole turret press.

    Anybody use Lee Classic Loader???

Just call the folks at Lee about the 38/357 question, or email them, (but be prepared to wait a couple days for an answer if you email). They're nice to talk to and will tell you what you need to know about the loader. A whole bunch of people have used the Lee Loader to get started. They work...

    Primers, Primers

Thanks JC. Real life facts like these are what we need. When I had called ATK, the lady said something similar about production. She said the CCI plant was making around 14 million per week, if I recall correctly. I never asked if they were actually shipping them out. To put a million...

    Primers, Primers

I'll be waiting for your report, JC. ;) BTW, don't know where you're located, but if I recall, the real live people don't answer the phone after 3pm, PST. After that you get voice mail recordings.
