    The realities of the street

I agree that if you actually draw the pistol then you need to be the first one calling the police. There's no telling what a criminal would tell the cops about your encounter. They may even lie...

    The realities of the street

Honest question for you guys; if a person can put off a bad guy from planning an attack on them by legally letting him know they are armed would you consider that a manner of deescalation? I see it as heading trouble off before the bad guy can start it. Bad guy sees that I am aware of him...

Savannah, GA visit planned. CCW friendly?

Drive towards Tybie Island and check out Ft. Polaski. On the highway to Tybie Island there is a great seafood resturant you should visit, out front they have concrete pools with baby alligators in them. Ft. Stewart is close to Savannah and is the new home of the U.S. Armor Museum, should be...

Gelatin tests: .357 mag from carbine & 10mm 155 gr XPB

It would be nice to see that 10mm fired from a carbine into the gel.

    The realities of the street

KY does not define it, they just go with the already established definition that's been in use for quite a few years now. All the KY penal code does is lay out the charge for doing it; classA misdemeaner. This was one of the many topics covered in the class I took to get my CCDW permit...

It does in my state. Can't say about your state, never looked into it.

    The realities of the street

I think a point that needs clarified is that simply going to open carry, or in some other way letting the thug know you are wearing a pistol, is not itself a threat where I live. Your situation may very well be different.

    The realities of the street

I have produced a weapon several times and did not threaten anyone with it. I've done this a few times. In my state I can go from concealed carry to open carry right in front of someone I feel is sizing me up. I have. They left me alone. I did not commit a crime. Read KY state...

    The realities of the street

Why all this talk about "in some states"? Know your state laws and only give advice to people living under them. If you don't know the laws someone lives under you can't really advise them, can you? Vague statements like this about serious topics are hardly helpful. What sort of...

Pistol or Carbine for older people?

I've been looking into these carbines and am very impressed with what I've found out about them. http://www.mechtechsys.com/ If you go with a Glock based Mechtech in 45ACP you can run some pretty large magazine sizes and even a 50 round drum. The 10mm option is very attractive to me and...

What's The Big Deal With .22LR?

The big attraction of 22lr, for me, is that it is just plain fun to shoot. We take a lever action and a bolt action to the range and shoot for several hours at a time. I love driving golf balls out until I can't hit them any more, clay pigeons are good fun too. We shoot things like match box...
