What's the NEXT gun you're gonna buy?

If S&W would make an airlight in 327 Federal Mag, I would by one tomorrow.

What shotgun to get a kid for learning to shoot clays

+1 Milk. I keep an 1100 around for when I find kids that want to shoot.

    Coloring brass

I currently use markers to draw a line or an X on the head. I have considered buying some of this and trying it on an ink-pad. I would think you would be able to "stamp" the head of the case into the inkpad and get it colored. http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/pid=5807/Product/DYKEM_LAYOUT_FLUID

what do you use for squirrels

Started out long long ago with a shotty. Then Marlin 39a. The past couple of years I have gone to a hand gun. Ruger Single Six 22LR. I may miss some, but it is a challenge. I always manage to get enough for a skillet full.

What is the favorite and least favorite gun in your collection?

Hmmm. Kinda like saying which kid is you favorite. But I will try. Favorite - Beretta DT-10 because I am really into clays at the moment. But I also really like my Remington 700 in .264 Mag when I am deer hunting. Or the old Colt 1911 (not 1911A) because it has a lot of history, or my old...

    Goose Hunting questions

Agreed that 3.5" are not necessary. Last year while duck hunting, I called in geese on a couple of different occasions. Folded them with Federal Black Cloud 3" shells with #4. Granted, they were close and cupped. Given the choice for geese, I would use larger shot. I usually carry #2 or BB...

Cooling the barrel during scope sighting-in

+1 Jimmyray. Just take a couple with you to the range. Maybe a .22 to do some plinking while you are waiting ))

    Coolest Guns

Original Army Issue Colt 1911 (not 1911A1) that was manufactured in 1913. Cool for a different reason than most of the other posters. The long hammer pinched my web. I just get this cool feeling that the basic design has remained unchanged for so long. Kinda weird, but it made me feel like...

    new to reloading, help please.

Inner - IMHO, pick one caliber to load for first. It will cut down on your expense for dies, components (multiple powders, different sizes of primers) etc and let you become familiar with the process and get your own routine established. When I started, I started with a pistol caliber as...

What would be a great arsenal (limit 5)

Here is a twist: 1) 12 Gauge O/U with complete set of Briley sub-guage tubes and full compliment of chokes. 2) 1911 with a .22 conversion kit to go along with it. 3) AR-15 with .22 conversion kit to go along with it. 4) Contender with an assortment of bbls and a rifle stock. 5) ?

Currently most-popular large game hunting calibers in the USA

+1 MCgunner. I like the odd balls. I love 6.5s. Fav right now is .264 Win Mag. Considering a 6.5x284 soon. My "kid" gun is .250 Savage in Remington 700. Plenty for whitetail in PA. Not nearly as popular as the ballistically superior .243, but fun because it is an oddball.

Mastercast Bullet Co, Enon Valley PA Re-loads. Any concerns?

I use his bullets, but have never purchased his reloads. Its too fun to load my own!!

    Skeet question

A little off topic, but with the guys I shoot with on a regluar basis (informally) we score station 8 on "hang time" -- how long the cloud of dust stays in the air. If you really crush them, it looks like an ink blot or a dust cloud just hanging there.

What are range fees where you live?

I frequent 2 clubs. The first is very close to the city. 100 yd outdoor range with 10 covered benches. Indoor combo pistol / archery range. 28 target outdoor archery range (that I do not utilize). Dues are $50 per year. Indoor range fees are $3.00 (unlimited time). Outdoor range fees are...
