Racking the slide hard vs. gently racking?

Good idea, I'll have to do that. I get my new FNH FSN 9 Compact EDC in on Monday and will have to test the new ammo with it.

Racking the slide hard vs. gently racking?

Well, that guy in green clothing might be yelling at me pretty soon. Studying for the ASVAB/AFQT right now....hopefully I'll be fighting tigers pretty soon. Setback is my main concern here, I could care less if I cosmetically damage the gun. All my firearms are tools and were designed to be...

Racking the slide hard vs. gently racking?

To limit bullet setback. I don't really shoot enough to justify reloading right now. But I use Federal HST .45 in my EDC gun and that stuff isn't cheap which is why I re-chamber rounds. Fortunately the good minds over at Federal Ammo crimped the ammo I use right under the bottom of the...

Racking the slide hard vs. gently racking?

OK, well I think I see where this is going and it's towards hard racking. So my next would be what is the maximum amount of times you would rack the same bullet? I usually put it in my range ammo pile after 4 times of the racking the same bullet so it won't cause bullet setback. Is this...

Keep in mind I am not talking about when you're training at fast shooting which I always "hard"...

How much does crimping the middle of a case (not crimped bullet) effect setback?

I've recently have thought about acquiring a Sig MK-25 for EDC which a 9. Right now I only have a USP .40 and Ruger .380 and have never even shot a 9. How are the IMIs for reliability and stopping power for an EDC? I can't really find too much info on their hollow points.

How much does crimping the middle of a case (not crimped bullet) effect setback?

Does crimping the case to prevent setback actually fully negate setback or just make it less likely to occur? I have both crimped and non crimped .45 ammo for my Glock 30S and always use the crimped when carrying for a CCW. But I'm wondering how much effect the crimping actually has on...
